By: COLONEL AJAY AHLAWAT

Dear Mr. Khan, Your name is a household phenomenon in Indian and even beyond her borders. Your fame has put you in the Newsweek “most powerful people list” recently. However,

as you may recall from your recent experience in New Jersey Airport, real life is a little different – it does not always follow the path predicted by a scriptwriter or director. Of late, we have been reading about your opinions and statements on matters beyond the celluloid world. Nothing is wrong in it. You live in a free, democratic country and are entirely entitled to your opinion. But as a
common man and an army officer and a polo player, also from the same soil, I
think I have the right too to raise a few points that may not conform to
your views of the real world.
I hope you will read it out.
When recently, the Pakistani players were not selected for the IPL, it was
almost predictable that NDTV, the award-winning, mouthpiece of our Indian
liberal media select you for your views and you certified that “It
(Pakistan) is a great neighbour to have. We (India and Pakistan) are great
neighbours. They are good neighbours.”
I Col ajay ahlawat, have a few words to say about those statements.
One may recall your effort to clarify the Pakistani team captain, Shoaib
Malik’s apology to the Muslims, living all over the world, for failing to
win the final T20 match against India, likely much to the embarrassment of a
lot of Indian Muslims, as expressed by Shamin Bano, mother of the man of the
match, Irfan Pathan. What was more embarrassing was your effort to try to
defend Shoaib in a subsequent interview, “I don”t think he meant to
segregate Muslims and Christians and Hindus and say this was a match between
Islam and Hinduism. I don”t think that…”

I doubt whether Shoaib talked to you personally about his thought process at
that time. You did not really have to respond for somebody else but perhaps
you could not resist the temptation to show your brotherhood and solidarity.

This reminds us again of Dr Ambedkar’s observation that, *”The brotherhood
of Islam is not the universal brotherhood of man. It is brotherhood of
Muslims for Muslims only.”*
Partition of India was what Pakistan wanted and got. It was painful to
millions but many more millions in present India have been spared. Since
then Pakistan has offered us only hatred. It has imposed on us three major
wars, the *Kargil insurgency*, the *Kashmir conflict*, the series of *serial
blasts*, the routine *violation of border ceasefires*, attacks on the
*Parliament
House* and the recent *Mumbai 26/11 attack*.

Did you have these in mind when you talked about them being good neighbours?

In another interview you had tried to explain the concept of Islamic Jihad.
*”I think one needs to understand the meaning of jihad .. I’ve understood
the essence that jihad is not about killing other people (correct me if I am
wrong); jihad is about killing the badness in you**.” *
I have personally met you on a number of occassions on the polo field and at
common friends houses,May be you understand jihad better and deeper than the
superficial meaning of what we, the rest of the mortal mankind, overburdened
and terrorized by the inter-religious, intra-religious and sectarian
violence that is plaguing the world in the name of Islam today, do. For we,
the less educated, cannot really make a difference between Jihad and Qatl,
between Jihad by heart / soul, Jihad by pen and Jihad by sword or between
lesser and greater jihad.
I wonder, whatever its meaning may be, does it minimize the significance of
the mindless killings that we see today in the name of Islam, across
borders, all over the world? Does it change the nature of the killers
whether you call them *holy warriors, mujahidins, fedayeens or plane suicide
bombers?*
I agree with you that terrorism has no religion. But hopefully you will also
agree with the people who perceive that most terrorist in the world today
happen to believe in the scriptures of Islam. They actually believe that
they themselves are the true Islamists.
The so called “moderate” Islamist, perhaps does not want to contradict them
or may be does not dare to speak out against them. You have probably not
forgotten the FIR against you for listing Prophet Mohammed as one of the
most unimpressive personalities in history, the threats from which you had
to skillfully wriggle out. Others who are not so fortunate, famous or
flexible are suffering lifetime, as *Tasleema Nasreen* or *Salman
Rushdie*would testify. For blasphemy in Islam is punishable with
death, even for a
believer.
Do I have to spell out the fate if it is a non-believer?
It is due to the inherent intolerance and exclusivity of Islam itself
despite your effort to convince us that there is an Islam from Allah and
very unfortunately, there is an Islam from the Mullahs.
Here is an historical insight from writer Irfan Hussain, *”The Muslim heroes
who figure larger than life in our history books committed some dreadful
crimes..all have blood-stained hands that the passage of years has not
cleansed. Indeed, the presence of Muslim historians on their various
campaigns has ensured that the memory of their deeds will live long after
they were buried…Seen through Hindu eyes, the Muslim invasion of their
homeland was an unmitigated disaster.” *

So why should the “non-believers” care to accept them? Why should the
majority of Indians like to welcome back such disasters again?
Since partition, India has come a long way in progress and development to
her current status and is projected as an economic superpower in coming
decades while Pakistan is perceived as a failed state on the verge of
disintegration.
What does India have to gain by offering neighbourly friendship to such a
hostile and failed state? *
India* has *never been an invader* and is not in conflict of any other
Muslim country. None of the wars and conflicts with Pakistan was instigated
by India. In the current geopolitical situation, one can argue for the
Muslim worlds grudge and anger against Israel or the west and USA but one
fail to fathom why India should also be at the receiving end and why Indians
should be the second largest group of people to die from terrorists attacks.
Indian majorities do not have anything to do with the Danish cartoon or the
death of Saddam Hussain; so why should they suffer from Islamic havoc on
those occasions.
In almost all occasions of terrorism, questions are raised about possible
role of Pakistan, its terror bases and its terrorist organizations, as
either directly or indirectly involved. Be it state sponsored (as recently
admitted by President Zardari) or by non-state actors, Pakistan or Pakistani
born are prime suspect in terrorist activities all over the world. The ISI
has been accused of playing a role in *major terrorist attacks including
9/11 in the USA, terrorism in Kashmir, Mumbai Train Bombings, London
Bombings, Indian Parliament Attack, Varanasi bombings, Hyderabad bombings,
Mumbai terror attacks or the attack on the Indian embassy in Kabul. *
Do you believe these are marks of a good neighbour? Then what is the reason
for your preaching of love towards Pakistan?
Perhaps, as you said, because it is your ancestor’s homeland, you have a
soft feeling for Pakistan and cannot see the difference. On the eve of
accepting an honorary doctorate from a British university, we heard you say,
*”I really believe we are the same ..when you come away from India or
Pakistan you realize there is no Indian or Pakistani were all together. We
are – culturally, as human beings, as friends” *
Which Pakistanis are you referring to?
The Pakistanis belonging to the land, admonished as the epicenter of global
terrorism, not just by India or USA but even by its friendly allies like
Iran or China.
Or is it the self-created, Talibanic Pakistan, who still imposes Jijya on
the non believers or finds pleasure in blowing up girl’s schools..?
Are you talking about it’s President class like the current Mr. Zardari,
vowed to wage a 1,000-year war with India or the late Mrs. Bhutto who
started Jihad in Kashmiri that lead to the exodus of Hindu minorities from
the Muslim majority state of India, as refugees in their own country?
Are you referring to Pakistanis loyal to the ISI and the military who train
their soldiers with only one objective, i.e. to fight Hindu India?
If your mind is concerned about the faceless mass of Pakistanis, does it
also include the dwindling minorities? Or are you just concerned about the
celebrities and the social elites?
It is true Mr. Khan, that we belong to the same human species but it is hard
to stretch the similarities much further between “us” and “them”.
We from the same original land of *Bharat* but we want to keep her intact,
and they want to break it into thousand pieces.
Our ancestors happen to be the same. We acknowledge and adore the heritage
but they abhor and decimate whoever is available in an attempt to wipe out
the link.
We are culturally the same. We have created the culture over centuries what
they dream to destroy in moments.
Our’s is a *10,000 year old civilization*, theirs is a *62 years old country
* undoing whole human civilization.
We extend our hands repeatedly to promote friendship and amity; they give us
ISI, Lashkar, Harkat, Kashmir, Kargil and 26/11 in exchange.
Do you think that the Indians nationals or my coursemates who died in all
the above wars, the Indian soldiers who lost their lives in cross-border
ceasefire violations or the Indian civilians who are killed by the ISI
trained Islamic terrorists and their affiliates, in all those serial blasts,
all over the country, willfully sacrificed their lives as a friendly
neighbourhood gesture?
Can you face the families of the victims of *Chhatrapati Shivaji
Terminus*or the martyrs of the
*Kargil war* and try to explain to them that *”They are good neighbours. Let
us love each other.” *
Can you explain why the two gunmen at Cama hospital, during the Mumbai
carnage, asked the man who gave them water, what his religion was, and shot
him dead when he said he was a Hindu?
If you cannot, then perhaps you understand why the majority of India does
not consider Pakistan as a good neighbour to have.
Perhaps you believe that the peaceful religious co-existence that you
created in your home (and we appreciate that) can be extended to the large
world outside. As you rightly said, we Indians trust and do accept everybody
but what you did fail to mention was that it is the Indic tradition,
essentially coming out of its pre-Islamic Hindu ethos.
If you think otherwise, show us a single Islamic country where the
non-believers enjoy the same equality as the believers. Since partition, the
Hindus left over in Pakistan and Bangladesh has suffered terribly. Strictly
Islamic countries, like Saudi Arabia, do not allow any other religions to
exist. Hindus working in the Gulf countries are not allowed to practice
their religion in public. Saudi Arabia insists that India sends only a
Muslim ambassador. Hindu Muslim unity by and large has generally been a
matter of Hindus trying to please or accommodate Muslims. One cannot forget
when Vajpayee was extending his hand for peace, Musharraf was planning the
Kargil insurgency.
Let me remind you, your own statement *”I am a Muslim in a country called
India .We’ve never been made to feel this is a Hindu country.” *
Can you find me a Hindu in Pakistan who can reciprocate that sentiment?
Some years ago, another Mr. Khan, first name Feroze, from your fraternity
was banned from entering Pakistan for saying, *”India is secular unlike
Pakistan”. *
That is the basic difference of the land of “Hindu” India from the Islamic
“pure land” of Pakistan.  So please do not ask us to love Pakistan.
Please do not lump the people of India and Pakistan together. We Indians are
proud to preserve our separate identity..
And please do not insult the land that gave you your life, name and fame, by
claiming that her worst enemy, who wants to break her into 1000 pieces, is a
great neighbour.
Otherwise it would be sad if somebody accuses you of putting your religion
ahead of your country.
Please give it a thought.
Regards,
Colonel Ajay Ahlawat.

Barrier broken....Hats off to u little master....

Those 22000 spectators hadn’t even dreamt before coming to the stadium that they are going to witness a historic moment in cricket…

That was the day when the long standing barrier was shattered by a long standing cricketing legends…The god of cricket…

Every one…not just Indians but everyone who loved cricket and even people like me, who have no extra love for cricket had glued to the tv just waiting for that moment. And it took long…real long…at times I felt Dhoni will not let him bat..!!!

But in the 50th over that moment came. The crowd was elated and so were other Indians…and with that single came the 200!!! 20 years of absolute carnage…more than 400 ODIs , dedication, devotion and fitness…..all combined together….A record was created..the barrier was shattered…There may come some other players who can break his record of 200..but walking past a broken barrier is easy..and the one who breaks it is remembered forever…

This is a mail I received which explains him…in a few words…

When Sachin Tendulkar travelled to Pakistan to face one of the finest bowling attacks ever assembled in cricket, Michael Schumacher was yet to race a F1 car, Lance Armstrong had never been to the Tour de France, Diego Maradona was still the captain of a world champion Argentina team, Pete Sampras had never won a Grand Slam.

When Tendulkar embarked on a glorious career taming Imran and company, Roger Federer was a name unheard of; Lionel Messi was in his nappies, Usain Bolt was an unknown kid in the Jamaican backwaters. The Berlin Wall was still intact, USSR was one big, big country, Dr Manmohan Singh was yet to "open" the Nehruvian economy.

It seems while Time was having his toll on every individual on the face of this planet, he excused one man. Time stands frozen in front of Sachin Tendulkar. We have had champions, we have had legends, but we have never had another Sachin Tendulkar and we never will.

HATS OFF…. MASTER BLASTER…

Competitor...where are you???

The below post is a small article my friend sent me today…I liked this coz all the facts are so bloody true…

Competitors can stay hidden anywhere. Most of the times we are bothered about the current competitor. A ‘lil out of the box thinking and analysis makes u realize that the real and more dangerous competitor stays hidden right beside us but we fail to recognize.

And we ignore the competitor and by the time we realize, it’s too late!!!

Coke was the market leader in soft drinks business in the USA. In pepsico GB meeting a question was raised…”Who is our competitor??” and the obvious answer was “COKE”..

But one person (I don’t know his name) stopped and gave the facts.

Only 2% of the liquid consumption in USA is coke and water holds a majority stake at more than 90%. So the real competitor is water and not coke!!!

And u know the rest. Pepsico leads the chart now!!!

There are some more examples to quote…

What Microsoft did to ibm, google did the same to Microsoft.

Linux has almost breached Windows’ secure fort.

Ipod has flushed sony’s walkman from my mind.

Who sells the largest number of cameras in India?

Your guess is likely to be Sony, Canon or Nikon. Answer is none of the above. The winner is Nokia whose main line of business in India is not cameras but cell phones.

Reason being cameras bundled with cell phones are outselling stand alone cameras. Now, what prevents the cell phone from replacing the camera outright? Nothing at all. One can only hope the Sony’s and Canons are taking note.

Try this. Who is the biggest in music business in India? You think it is HMV Sa-Re-Ga-Ma? Sorry. The answer is Airtel. By selling caller tunes (that play for 30 seconds) Airtel makes more than what music companies make by selling music albums (that run for hours).

Incidentally Airtel is not in music business. It is the mobile service provider with the largest subscriber base in India. That sort of competitor is difficult to detect, even more difficult to beat (by the time you have identified him he has already gone past you). But if you imagine that Nokia and Bharti (Airtel's parent) are breathing easy you can't be farther from truth.

Nokia confessed that they all but missed the Smartphone bus. They admit that Apple's I phone and Google's Android can make life difficult in future. But you never thought Google was a mobile company, did you? If these illustrations mean anything, there is a bigger game unfolding. It is not so much about mobile or music or camera or emails?

The "Mahabharat" (the great Indian epic battle) is about "what is tomorrow's personal digital device"? Will it be a souped up mobile or a palmtop with a telephone? All these are little wars that add up to that big battle. Hiding behind all these wars is a gem of a question - "who is my competitor?"

Once in a while, to intrigue my students I toss a question at them. It says "What Apple did to Sony, Sony did to Kodak, explain?" The smart ones get the answer almost immediately. Sony defined its market as audio (music from the walkman). They never expected an IT company like Apple to encroach into their audio domain. Come to think of it, is it really surprising? Apple as a computer maker has both audio and video capabilities. So what made Sony think he won't compete on pure audio? "Elementary Watson". So also Kodak defined its business as film cameras, Sony defines its businesses as "digital."

In digital camera the two markets perfectly meshed. Kodak was torn between going digital and sacrificing money on camera film or staying with films and getting left behind in digital technology. Left undecided it lost in both. It had to. It did not ask the question "who is my competitor for tomorrow?" The same was true for IBM whose mainframe revenue prevented it from seeing the PC. The same was true of Bill Gates who declared "internet is a fad!" and then turned around to bundle the browser with windows to bury Netscape. The point is not who is today's competitor. Today's competitor is obvious. Tomorrow's is not.

In 2008, who was the toughest competitor to British Airways in India?

Singapore airlines? Better still, Indian airlines? Maybe, but there are better answers. There are competitors that can hurt all these airlines and others not mentioned. The answer is videoconferencing and telepresence services of HP and Cisco. Travel dropped due to recession. Senior IT executives in India and abroad were compelled by their head quarters to use videoconferencing to shrink travel budget. So much so, that the mad scramble for American visas from Indian techies was nowhere in sight in 2008. (India has a quota of something like 65,000 visas to the U.S. They were going a-begging. Blame it on recession!). So far so good. But to think that the airlines will be back in business post recession is something I would not bet on. In short term yes. In long term a resounding no. Remember, if there is one place where Newton's law of gravity is applicable besides physics it is in electronic hardware. Between 1977 and 1991 the prices of the now dead VCR (parent of Blue-Ray disc player) crashed to one-third of its original level in India. PC's price dropped from hundreds of thousands of rupees to tens of thousands. If this trend repeats then telepresence prices will also crash. Imagine the fate of airlines then. As it is not many are making money. Then it will surely be RIP!

Who is the competitor to Multiplexes?

India has two passions. Films and cricket. The two markets were distinctly different. So were the icons. The cricket gods were Sachin and Sehwag. The filmi gods were the Khans (Aamir Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and the other Khans who followed suit). That was, when cricket was fundamentally test cricket or at best 50 over cricket. Then came IPL and the two markets collapsed into one. IPL brought cricket down to 20 over’s. Suddenly an IPL match was reduced to the length of a 3 hour movie. Cricket became film's competitor. On the eve of IPL matches movie halls ran empty. Desperate multiplex owners requisitioned the rights for screening IPL matches at movie halls to hang on to the audience. If IPL were to become the mainstay of cricket, as it is likely to be, films have to sequence their releases so as not clash with IPL matches. As far as the audience is concerned both are what in India are called 3 hour "tamasha" (entertainment). Cricket season might push films out of the market.

Look at the products that vanished from India in the last 20 years. When did you last see a black and white movie? When did you last use a fountain pen? When did you last type on a typewriter? The answer for all the above is "I don't remember!" For some time there was a mild substitute for the typewriter called electronic typewriter that had limited memory. Then came the computer and mowed them all. Today most technologically challenged guys like me use the computer as an upgraded typewriter. Typewriters per se are nowhere to be seen.

What killed the Alarm Clock?

One last illustration. 20 years back what were Indians using to wake them up in the morning? The answer is "alarm clock." The alarm clock was a monster made of mechanical springs. It had to be physically keyed every day to keep it running. It made so much noise by way of alarm, that it woke you up and the rest of the colony. Then came quartz clocks which were sleeker. They were much more gentle though still quaintly called "alarms." What do we use today for waking up in the morning? Cell phone! An entire industry of clocks disappeared without warning thanks to cell phones. Big watch companies like Titan were the losers. You never know in which bush your competitor is hiding!

Let's join the voice....Mile sur mera tumhara

Hi all....
It was 1988..i was 2 yrs old...Now it's 2010...i'm 23...
Then ...after the PM's speech on 15th august, the song mile sur mera tumhara was first telecasted and that's it...
It ruled the indian hearts from that very day...
It withstood all the anti national forces and united india ...with the same quote repeated in different indian languages....
They said Mile sur mera tumhara...toh sur bane hamara...
The same song was re telecasted with a lil change in lyrics and the cast ofcourse...
But the captivating power of the 1988 hit could not be repeated..the older mile sur is still my favourite...And will be my favourite for years to come...
It runs for over 15 minutes but the magic of the 1988 5 min tune still lingers...
But..Let's appreciate the attempt to unite india...
Lets stay united and withstand all the forces that stop us from reaching the top...Let's unite and let's capture the world...
Let's sing aloud and clear and let the world hear..
Mile sur mera tumhara...toh sur bane hamara...

Here is the link for both the songs..

Hmmm.....
Last year began with a shock....
It was Jan 5th when i boarded the bus to Coimbatore..Away from my friends...my family...my state...my people..my language...like a migrating bird..
I was happy...i was sad..a lil tensed...a lil depressed...feeling free...feeling independent....
It's been one year and life has taken so many turns...ups n downs..
The whole face of life has changed..The talks were so random before...and now every word we speak rotates around the work...
I was so independent before...But now feeling like a slave..Cant bunk the office...Cant sleep if i'm bored...Cant go home early coz i have deadlines to meet...
Cant be late to office...canr be early to house...
Uhhh....I sit here and cherish those days when i wanted to go home late...enjoyed every bit of life...I wanna enter that phase once again...
Alas.i can just make a wish....

A flashback of one year gave me some list of notable things in my life...
Some of them listed below:
Goodys in 2k9..
1) My money...my life...my way!!
2) My dad n mom became better than the best friends of mine...
3) i learnt cooking..Now i can even think of opening a restaurant if Bosch fires me!!
4) I'm more independent...more matured and more capable...
5) I know Tamil!!!

Well..There were some bad things too!!!
1) I've lost freedom!!!
2) No fun in life...office-home-office-weekends-office....and the cycle continues!!
3) I hate couple of my room mates....Wanna kick them outta my house asap..
4) Health is upset!!!
5) Hotte barta ide! :-O

Ok....Learning from the baddys and making the gooddies even better is my resolution for the new year...
Life and people wil start expecting more n more as years pass.....
2012 is one step nearer...So the world is about to end...

And i've a new mantra in life now...

WTF!!!

Look at the news!!! I was shocked!! What the hell do they think of themselves?? If you are staying in India love India and WORSHIP India ….

And we never objected to your worshipping Allah or whoever!!!

Vande Mataram is our national song. This is the song which unites us all..  Vande Mataram is not just a pair of words..It’s the very inspiration for hundreds of freedom fighters to lay down their lives for the sake of motherland.

It’s the zeal, enthusiasm and the very reason for them having given their blood or taken the blood!!!

It’s the one for India..If you are a muslim first and then an India then get the hell outta my nation. There are many other nations who’ll offer u a red carpet welcome… Go ..get ur asses there…

If you don’t f*****g mind issuing a fatwa against Vande Mataram I don f*****G mind swearing at you and your god…

Enough is enough people…wake up!!! And these politicians address them!!! They want talks with them..Let our soldiers speak to them..let our ak47s answer them…Let them flee..to their land…to the land where they can stay without singing Vande Mataram…

Fatwa issued against 'Vande Mataram'

|

Jamait-e-Ulema Hind or the JEU on Tuesday issued a fatwa against singing national song 'Vande Matram'.

According to a resolution, Muslims should not sing 'Vande Matram' as its reciting is against the Islam.

The resolution, which was passed at the Deoband national convention meet, says that Muslims should not sing 'Vande Matram' as some verses of the patriotic song are against the tenets of Islam. The JEU leader said that the some of the line in the song is against Islam.

Meanwhile, home minister P Chidambaram will address a Jamait-e-Ulema Hind conference in Deoband today. The home minister will also discuss the Sachar Committee Report and POTA issue with Deoband leaders.

Meanwhile, the Muslim Law Board justified the decision saying that (Muslims) can’t offer prayers to anyone but Allah. Kamal Farooqui, a prominent leader of the Board said, "We love the nation but can't worship it."

What happens if Rajyotsava falls on a sunday??

hmmm...
This saturday (31.10.2009)i was out for department outing and it turned out to be wonderful...I never expected the DHs, GRMs etc are so good at having fun!!! We had enough fun and had foood at a punjabi dhaba....This is the best eatout in coimbatore for sure..None of us could believe we ate 4 rotis each and 2 "aloo de parathe" served by a pagadi-clad sardar...
It was awesome too..So as i was cherishing the good day a shitty idea flashed!!! I discussed with my always-game-for-all-shitty-ideas friends...And the idea was...I would cook chocolates tomorrow!!!all said in unison...GAME!!! and Suhas added a lil sweet to it!! he said i'll prepare Gulab jamun!! In unison we said again..GAME!!!! and then why cant we try pani puri @ home!! we had however planned it last week itself..said chidanand..The senior most.....In unison we said GAME!!! and then we scrapped the plan and thought of watching "LONDON DREAMS" (yup..a hindi movie in coimbatore)...And all shouted in unison ...GAME!!!
So it was LD and not choco jamun pani puri!!! But on a sunday after gettin up @ 11 and gettin ready...all the tickets were sold out...And then came out the same old idea!!! The idea of PP, chocloate and jamun!!! So we started.....
Jamun is easy to prepare (or atleast we thought that way) and we started with dough...jamun balls and heating oil!!! As Vivekanand fried the Jamun balls we made the sugar syrup ready..With more than half a kilo sugar in it..the syrup was all sweet and yummy...Pouring jamun was all it needed from our side.. and wwe dint delay in doing that. So jamun was over..
Then started the chocolate fantasy!!!
I mixed the cocoa powder and milk powder and started preparing sugar syrup. The actual recipe says to add cocoa, butter, milk and sugar in 1:1:2:1 quantity...And i asked mom to confirm!!
And i prepared it all, Poured the butter into it and as the chocolate was just about to get ready for a delicious pour into the plate i found floating butter on the broth!!! The butter is not supposed to float..i cursed AMUL for having manufactured defective butter chunk and poured the extra floating butter and just had a look at the cover of the butter packet..It read 500G!!! I was supposed to add 200G...More than double!! butter was bound to float!! And over that i just felt like tasting the chocolate and i did that...just to spit it back to the washbasin!! It was SALTY!! The f*****g butter was salted and not a single mention about that on the packet!! So i ended up cooking Salty-overbuttered-chocolate!! :-(
Then it was pani puri's turn!!
It went off rather smoothly and was the best of the day...Pani was awesome and so was the bhaji!!!
After that one thing flashed to our mind..Can we just eat jamun, PP and chocolate as our dinner?? Nope was the answer so it was time for dal khichdi!!!
And it was ready in a short span!!
so then...it was time for us to eat everything!!!
All of it...
And then we realised it was Rajyotsava!! Jai kannadambe..we shouted and pounced upon the pani poori and then the khichdi!!! ..the chocolate is still in the refrigerator and the jamun was awesome...we finished it all...
So thus came to an end a great rajyotsava..Or let me call it the best rajyotsava!!!
I returned back home... Got my bed ready and as soon as i fell on my bed!!! my stomach started giving signals!!! And need i say more about this?? ;-)

Well, we are even planning to start our own restaurant......

The feel that I seldom feel...

something's seriously wrong with me. My health has always been that "something"..but this time it's not my health....my mind doesnt seem to be in greatest of its form. What is it? why is my mind not in its senses...what is that one thing which is hollowing my mind like a termite....can i name it? can i tame it? can i blame it??? i speak aloud and ask myself..but the mind reaches the same disturbed state and the answer i get is NULL...well...if that sounds a bit too technical...my mind doesn stop at a point...still the quest is on...for the termite...someday i might find u...i might fight u...i might kill u and emerge victorious...leading my life...without hesitation...without begging...without crying....and with smile all over...come out u termite...the day i find u....i'll slay u...slaughter u...will trash u from my mind forever...But what if the day doesnt come at all? What if i die in the quest of the termite..What if i find it someday and it's too late...and i have no other choice than to live with u!!! Oh holy shit.....i cant take this anymore...cannot really take this anymore....The day i emerge victorious....i shall cry...i shall shout...shall woooooooooooo and yipppppie around....
Waiting for the day...Counting each day.....waiting for the day...

Madan Lal Dhingra...Hero unknown...

The centenary of Madan Lal Dhingra's martyrdom falls on 17 August 2009.

India won freedom due to the blood and tears shed by hundreds of nameless revolutionaries and their families who braved British barbarity and faced death. The struggle for freedom was carried out not only in India, but also abroad, by people such as Shyamji Krishnavarma, Veer Savarkar, Madam Bhikaji Cama, Barrister Sardar Singh Rana, Virendranath Chattopadhyaya, Sardar Ajit Singh, Lala Hardayal, Rasbehari Bose, Raja Mahendra Pratap and Champakraman Pillay. In this illustrious list of fiery patriots, Madan Lal Dhingra stands out for his sheer courage and supreme sacrifice. Madan Lal Dhingra went to the gallows on 17 August 1909. The centenary of his martyrdom is an occasion for us to remember his immortal saga.

Madan Lal Dhingra was born on 18 September 1883 in Amritsar. His father was an eye specialist and Civil Surgeon of Amritsar. Madan Lal was the sixth of his seven sons. Two of Madan Lal's brothers were doctors, two other brothers were barristers. Madan Lal was married and had a son. If he had desired, he could have lived a life of luxury. But he chose to be a martyr for India's freedom struggle.

Madan Lal Dhingra studied for Diploma in Civil Engineering at University College, London from 1906-09. He was very closely associated with Savarkar while in London. Together, they hatched the plan to assassinate Sir Curzon Wyllie who was Dhingra's personal acquaintance.

On 01 July 1909, Dhingra went as planned to a meeting at Imperial Institute. After the meeting was over, Curzone Wyllie seemed ready to leave. Dhingra now approached Curzon Wylie under the pretext of talking to him. The two opened the glass door and left the hall. As they reached the landing, Dhingra lowered his voice as if he wanted to discuss something confidential. Curzon Wylie brought his ear close to Dhingra. Sensing the opportunity, Dhingra removed the Colt revolver from his right coat pocket and pumped two bullets at point-blank range. The time was 11.20 pm. As Curzon Wyllie reeled, dhingra fired two more bullets. A Parsee doctor Cawas Lalkaka tried to come in between but Dhingra fired at him as well. However, Dhingra's attempt to shoot himself failed and he was overpowered.

After his arrest, the Police Officer asked Dhingra, "Do you want us to inform any of your friends of your arrest?" Dhingra cleverly replied, "There is no need. They will know about my arrest in tomorrow's newspapers." The Police were trying to find out if they could implicate any of Dhingra's friends. He proved a match for them. Dhingra was taken to Walton Street Police station.

When produced before Mr Hoarce Smith the Magistrate of Westminster Police Court, Dhingra said, "I do not plead for mercy; nor do I recognise your authority over me." Dhingra was committed to the Sessions Court. Dhingra bluntly asked the Court, "...If the Germans have no right to rule over England what right have the English got to rule over India ?" During the trial Indians were not allowed inside the Court.

Martyrdom!

It was 17 August 1909. Several Indian youth had mournfully gathered outside the gates of the prison. They were however denied entry inside. Entry was also denied to the waiting journalists. At the stroke of nine, Madanlal Dhingra began his last journey to the gallows. A Christian preacher named Hudson walked up to him to say the final Christian prayer for him. But Dhingra turned him away saying that he was a Hindu. The Deputy Under-Sheriff of London Metcalf read out the death warrant to Dhingra in the presence of Deputy Governor Hales of Pentonville prison and asked him the usual questions. But Dhingra ignored their questions and walked calmly to the noose. His bravery left the accompanying offcers dumb-founded. Officer Pierpoint stood at the hangman's noose waiting for Dhingra. Dhingra smiled at him and ascended the steps to the platform. He himself placed the noose round his neck. Soon thereafter, the wooden platform underneath was withdrawn.

The Times, London of 18 August 1909 reported on page 7 column 2, " Shortly after 9, death was announced. Pierpoint was the executioner. An application for leave to have the body cremated was refused and it will be buried in accordance with the usual custom, within the walls of prison."

After Dhingra went to the gallows, the Times, London wrote an editorial (24 July 1909) titled 'Conviction of Dhingra'. The editorial said, "The nonchalance displayed by the assassin was of a character, which is happily unusual in such trials in this country. He asked no questions. He maintained a defiance of studied indifference. He walked smiling from the Dock."

Last statement:

As desired by Gyan Chand Varma, Sardar Singh Rana , who was then in Paris, published Dhingra's last testament on a postcard along with his photograph. Savarkar in turn sent a large number of these copies to India. Madanlal Dhingra's final statement was as inspiring as his actions. Titled "Challenge" it read as follows:

Challenge

"I admit the other day; I attempted to shed English blood as an humble revenge for the inhuman hangings and deportations of patriotic Indian youths. In this attempt, I have consulted none but my own conscience; I have conspired with none, but my own duty.
"I believe that a nation held down in bondage with the help of foreign bayonets is in a perpetual state of war. Since open battle is rendered impossible to a disarmed race, I attacked by surprise; since guns were denied to me, I drew forth my pistol and fired.
"As a Hindu I felt that a wrong done to my country is an insult to God. Her cause is the cause of Sri Ram! Her services are the services of Sri Krishna! Poor in health and intellect, a son like myself has nothing else to offer to the Mother but his own blood and so I have sacrificed the same on her altar.
"The only lesson required in India at present is to learn how to die and the only way to teach it, is by dying ourselves. Therefore I die and glory in my martyrdom! This war of Independence will continue between India and England, so long as the Hindu and the English races last (if the present unnatural relation does not cease!)
"My only prayer to God is: May I be reborn of the same Mother and may I redie in the same sacred cause, till the cause is successful and she stands free for the good of humanity and the glory of God!"

-Vande Mataram-

Madan Lal Dhingra's coffin was exhumed on 12 December 1976 in the presence of Natwar Singh, then Acting High Commisioner for India. This coffin too was flown back to India.

Madan Lal Dhingra lives on in the hearts of his country men. Humble salutations to his memory!

The "PISSED OFF" Post

THE LEGEND OF BHAGAT SINGH....
Saw this movie after a long time. And was ashamed too....Not coz i saw the movie, but for a reason. A reason for which i was blaming others for being like.and what's the reason for me being ashamed? well, here i speak out...
The legend of Bhagat Singh was the movie i saw yesterday (Thanks to UTV movies). I have watched this movie about ..hmm...well....i donno..that many times!!!But now after a long hiatus of about 1.5 yrs i was seeing that movie again.
There is a specific reason for me wathing that movie so many times. I have read biographies of almost all the characters in that movie. So whatever happens there i know the relation and co-relation between each of them.
I have read the biographical sketches about Chandrashekar Azad (Book named AJEYA in Kannada),Bagha Jatin (Rudhirabhisheka in Kannada),Bhagat Singh (Many books in english and Kannada), Batukeshwar datt (Small 32 page book but very informative),Netaji Subhash chandra bose (KOLMINCHU in Kannada),etc etc etc.
So everytime I watch the movie it's like re-reading the whole book. Living a krantikaari life myself and talking to all of them. But yesterday i forgot so many things. I forgot the name of the college through which Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Azad ran after killing Sanders.I forgot the name of the person who ditched Azad at the Alfred park, I forgot the name of Azad's gun adn so many such things!!! And I used to blame so many for not remembering the national heroes...forgetting their martyrdom...trashing their dream...and for what not....
Now this might be a simple "Oh-my-god-it-is-crap" thing for u all but not for me.
I'm very emotional about my nation. whenever i see someone swearing about the dirty roads in india and blaming India for that i really get pissed off.Come on guys it's not India who is spitting on roads and it's not India who breaks the traffic and bribes the police officer to escape away. It's we the Indians...
Whenever i see someone speaking shit about the family system of indians i shoot back at them saying we dont have 13 yr old gals carrying babies with them.Whenever i see someone calling indians as people with traditional and out-dated thoughts i say i'd prefer being traditional than being modern if modernization is loving machines and gadgets more than humans.
Whenever some shit headed US returned moron yells in a fake accent about the traffic jargon and the biting mosquitoes i dont speak anything , I show him the finger he deserves to be shown.
when some BOSCHLERS(Employees of BOSCH) speak of German discipline and the autobahns there i remind them of Adolf Hitler who created autobahn and I also remind them that the same Adolf Hitler created the toxic chamber.
I donno what u r thinking but a nation is never perfect. We have to make it perfect. We never think twice before ejecting a red spit from our mouth when we are in India, But when in Germany we are the best. What the hell happens to us when we return back??
I'm speaking it out coz i saw some people speaking speaking all sorta crap about India and Indian vehicles in our induction program. They spoke about population problem in india, The road problem in india and what not.
But none of them even thought for a minute that they were all so capable that with a single call they could have changed it all.
But speaking is really easy...right guys.
Well, i decide to stop at this point. I'm really pissed off and the forthcoming lines might turn abusive for some of them.
So cya guys...will write some other day when my mind is calm.
Cya all....

Throne Drifting towards east???

Stolen directly from Times of india. Read the article below. And not just this one.. I've seen many such articles coming up in leading news papers...so the indication is quite clear..Is india going back to it's "Queen of the world" status as it had few centuries ago??
Indians!!! buckle up....It's ur time to rule..

India Inc buys 143 US cos in 2 yrs
NEW DELHI: The greater engagement of US with India seems to have benefited the former during the economic downturn as thousands of Americans managed
to save their jobs when Indian corporates went on a major acquisition drive in the US. During the last two years, Indian companies acquired 143 US firms across various sectors. While 94 deals were concluded in 2007-08, in the following year when the economy was on the downturn, Indians bought as many as 50 US entities that were on the verge of closure, saving thousands of jobs. A study, jointly conducted by Indian industry association FICCI and Ernst & Young, said Tata Chemicals, Wipro, Reliance Communications and Firstsource Solutions were some of the top Indian entities that were involved in bailing out US companies in the red. The report released on Thursday said IT&ITeS, manufacturing and pharmaceuticals were the prime sectors in which most of the deals were formalised. Indian companies from the IT sector have over the years been aggressively expanding in the US market. The deals were predominantly debt financed with cash being a popular mode of payment. "This trend probably extends from India Inc's traditional preference for cash transactions in the domestic merger and acquisition space," the report observed. The Ernst & Young report says the boom in the Indian economy in the last three to four years made the domestic companies cash-rich which provided them with access to more capital than in the past. Interestingly, one of the key factors, as the report cites, behind more acquisitions has been the liberal policies introduced by the government and RBI for overseas investments. According to RBI data, in 2007-08 the total outbound investments of Indian companies amounted to $18 billion. In the first half of 2008-09, at least 2,000 proposals valued at $9 billion were cleared for overseas investments in joint ventures and wholly owned subsidiaries.

Soderling beats So-Darling!!!

OOH my god....i cant excuse myself for having missed that match. The very news of Rafa being defeated at the clay court hit me as a lightning strike..

I'm a fan of rafa and i like every aspect of his game (except his frequent act of scratching (or whatever) his a** while on the court!!) . It was sunday night and i was busy watching a movie (!!!), while the world experienced one of the greatest shocks of tennis history. Rafa , the undisputed king of the clay court and the world number one right now, is knocked out by not so famous , 25th seeded Robin Soderling. This man Soderling is the same person Rafa had beaten in straight sets a few days ago!!! And now he hits back...and in what style!!! He beats the king in his own land!!!

The crowd was surprised, so was the commentator and all the tennis fans worldwide..!!! And more shocked was Soderling!! and in news i see him throwing his racquet into the crowd...!! And no offence in doing that...he must have felt like he had stopped and dammed a fast flowing flooded river, checking his winning streak of 31 matches on clay...

I still cant excuse myself for missing that match.

and after the match what a talk (i wont call it a speech!!!) by Rafa...He admits his defeat and says "This day was bound to come one day...that day was today. I have to accept it " and further he clears a big hurdle for fedex who must have been the happiest man after Soderling !!!

Rafa is out. The man who has been beating fedex since 4 years is out of french open!! It cant get any better for him and i wish Federer wins a Roland Garros...finally one into his pocket!! If he does so he will be having all the four crowns with him!! but Fedex, this is a golden chance and once in a lifetime opportunity for u. coz i'm sure rafa will hit back harder and stronger next year. so win it now or forget it forever.

Finally Congrats soderling!!! and all the best.... and better luck next time Rafa !!! We still love u

Book Review: The Company of Women by Khushwant Singh

WARNING: Contains Adult Content. Read the next post if u r a minor...

Before i say something i'd like to quote one of the first lines of the book. Khushwant Singh says "As a man gets older, his sex instincts travel from his middle to his head!!!". And now i disclose the reason why he said so....

He was 83 when he started writing this novel and finished when he was 85!!!

And you read this novel!!! you'll go crazy. The slightest details of the night spent (Read it as SEX) are detailed with such a clarity that you start breathing heavy and it certainly feels as if you are peeping through the key hole of the door they are having IT in..!!! (or feels like watching a tickly porn movie)

it'a all about a man named Mohan who hails from a middleclass brahmin family. Is extremely intelligent (tops the Princeton!!!) and for his higher studies flies ti the US.

Until then he was the same old Indian guy who was CONTENTED WITH HIMSELF (If u know what i mean!!!) and in the US he gets used to the US culture, discipline and their way of living.

There he loses his virginity to a gal named Jessica Brown , a black sexy gal who takes him to her room and their they have it. And as a poor indian guy Mohan is very committed to Jessica. But as the time passed (less than one year) they break up but.....but....mohan has tasted it.. and craves for more...And coz of his SIZE (as explained by the author) he gets more!!!

So finally just before leaving the US he has it with a Pakistani (the very idea of f*****g a Pakistani enthrills me!!! be it literally or in any other terms) named Ms. Yasmeen, much older than him and not so "HAVABLE" (Have+able) lady. but our horny bull Mohan doesn spare her....(pardon me....it was Ms Yasmeen who started it!!)..

Then after returning to India Mohan gets married and no prizes for guessing who his next prey is!!! And with this attack he gets a kid...And then the usual fight starts and they get divorced!!!

And then , again Mohan is again a free man continuing to watch the BIRDS and waiting to hunt them!!! And the next bird is his housemaid. she is dark, short and perfevctly chiseled at proper places and that was enough to quench a term's thirst!!!

Then mohan made a bold move to put up an ad in the MATRIMONY section of a newspaper for a KEEP!!!!! bold fellow (Atleast a bold imagination by Mr.singh). If ur jaw dropped reading the above line then ur jaw will rip apart from the head reading this.........he got several mails back to him from many gals. Wide variety of them. Widows, masseurs, la unsatisfied, etc etc etc....And it's his turn to have one by one...

And he keeps having many..And the same thing continues... to list a few ..an english professor from UP who has a son, a sri lankan ambassador to india, a masseur from goa, a nurse from south. and finally to end alll this he has a final one in a hotel in Mumbai. and unfortunately she is a whore and after six months mohan is diagnosed with the deadly AIDS. And after a couple of years he commits suicide consuming sleeping pills, 30 at once!!!

This ends the story but trust me after reading this ur view towards gals will change!!! and you start expecting a little (ahem....) more from the girl clan!!!

all together khushwant singh explains it so well that you cant stop thinking of trying out something like Mohan......

I finished it in straight 7.5 hours.....Need i say more!!!

You can order it online at http://www.landmarkonthenet.com/.

costs about 250 bucks!!!

The Dirty Dozen of IPL2

Hi all,

The hip-hop IPL2 is over with a disappointing(For a RCB fan like me) finish and DC bagging the most expensive trophy!!! And the worst team in IPL1 has emerged victorious and the last 2 in IPL1 finishing as the top2!!

Now before we list the hits of IPL2 i thought of sharing the disappointing duds of IPL2..

Let's look at the flops of IPL 2, who have signally failed to live up to the hype surrounding them. Of course, the beauty of T20 is that a couple of games are all it takes to leap from dud to dude -- or vice versa! And so, as we wish them all the best, let's list the disappointing dozen:
Brendon McCullum: His blazing 158 was the talking point of IPL 1. This year, he will be lucky if he manages to score 158 from all 14 league matches put together. Looks like a man living through his worst nightmare. Certainly, nothing in New Zealand could ever have prepared him for the job of captaining a volatile, controversial side like Knight Riders.
Virender Sehwag: T20 is supposed to be tailormade for his bang-bang style, but he hasn't really fired in this edition. The finger injury hasn't helped.
Jesse Ryder: Is no more a Rider...He was supposed to add heft to Royal Challengers' T20 credentials. But so far, has only managed to weigh down their challenge. The number of ducks he's lined up would please only a bird-lover.
Kevin Pietersen: Wasn't bad with the ball. Unfortunately, he was hired primarily for his batting, where he was distinctly underwhelming. With Bangalore actually doing better after he left, he seems to be carrying some kind of jinx when it comes to leadership.
Andrew Flintoff: Everyone acknowledges that he has a huge heart. He'll need it, if he's to emerge from the hammering he copped in IPL 2 without severe psychological damage.
Tyron Henderson: His superb performances for Middlesex convinced many that he could be the Shane Watson of IPL 2. Rajasthan Royals certainly thought so, shelling out $650,000 for him. But a series of disappointing performances have left them pining for the original Watson.
Paul Collingwood: hehehehe...Cant stop laughing thinking of him..poor chap...England's T20 captain wasn't considered good enough to even get a spot in Delhi's playing XI and had to return to England without playing a single match. At least he had plenty of interesting company on the bench, in the form of Glenn McGrath and Owais Shah.
Mashrafe Mortaza: The big joke of IPL2!!!!Yes, it's probably cruel to put him in this list, since it's not his fault that his team management refuses to play him. But his plight does beg the question: what was the point of getting into a bidding war for him -- and jacking up his price from $50,000 to $600,000 -- just to make him serve drinks? Poor Mortaza has picked up the unfortunate tag of being the world's most expensive waiter. But the real jokers are the Knight Riders think-tank.
Dale Steyn: Allegedly the world's best fast bowler. He was supposed to be the ace up Royal Challengers' sleeve, especially on his home tracks. But he has spent most of the time injured, and when he has played, hasn't done much.
S Sreesanth: His comeback was eagerly awaited by fans who still remember his previous exploits in South Africa. But his first 8 overs disappeared for 81 runs. He did unleash some verbals at Hayden after getting his wicket -- having first being taken for three sixers in the over. Uh-oh, looks like he's forgotten Harbhajan's love pat already.
Harbhajan Singh: And speaking of Bhajji, four wickets from eight matches don't really do credit to Team India's premier spinner. Forget the likes of Pragyan Ojha, Shadab Jakati, Piyush Chawla, Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori and Amit Mishra, even Rohit Sharma and Suresh Raina have better figures than the Turbanator.
Finally, the coach: For taking a team that fought gallantly while managing an honourable sixth place last year, and turning them into a bunch of complete no-hopers this time, let's hear it for John Buchanan (variously dubbed Bhooka-naan, or Boka-known by furious KKR fans). Still, at least one good thing has come out of his disastrous stint with KKR: you realize just how good Steve Waugh's Aussies must have been to stay on top of the cricketing world even with this weapon of mass destruction in their midst.

Well, these were the duds...The goods will follow shortly after i finish my project task...and the release...

Thats it.. And in a couple of weeks let's get ready to enjoy the T20 World Cup...And let's cheer "Dhoni's Deadly Devils".....

Cya soon...

The word "Politics" now has an insulting touch!!!

Tragedy!!!!

According to me Politics should have been the most respectable job on earth.

Because it is for the soceity and ONLY for the soceity...You get to know ur people, know the problems and serve them with all the powers in hand....but unfortunately in my country POLITICS, rather, refers to a dirty game.... Cheat, 420, budmaash, kalla, halka, and many more.....we had so many similes to address an small anti-social element. But now everyword is trashed with the introduction of the brand new word "POLITICIAN"... Being called a POLITICIAN is treated as an insult....Thanks to our Able (??? !!!) leaders viz. HDD family, Lalu, Pappu (Infact pappu cant rule saala!!!), Amar singh (He offered the SIMI a whopping 10 lakhs...for the innocent and poor minority community!!!)..And the lady lord of UP...Dalit ki beti (!!!) Mamta..., About to die but still greedy to rule TN ..Mr.Karunanidhi.... Our former home minister who changed the dress thrice in a day when the TAJ was burning and our soldiers were dying!!! The CM of 100% literate state A-Chute-Anand who insulted a martyrs family, Antulay...!!! The greatest of all...he says mumbai attack was a local plot by BJP!!! and Pakistan was not involved!! Son of a bit**...

I personally feel all these pig headed pretty poloticians should be killed and then let's execute Ajmal Kasab and his lawyer ofcourse... I feel disturbed when during lok sabha elections they fight with each other like kids!!! they abandon the parliament like we bunk our classes...they speak bull shit all the bloody time...

I remember the US elections.....there were so many issues they discussed..so many problems they faced...there was enimity but was so sweet...they fought ,they were red and blue...but they knew..before that they were Americans...

But look at us!!! the world's largest democracy..with a million political parties...a million poloticians and a billion citizens....i feel ashamed...

I'm not ashamed of being an indian...but ashamed of being ruled by them... And ashamed of the 48-50 % of the people who did not vote... Ashamed of the shitty dirt splashing speeches.... the no-issue-speeches...And everything...

Oh god...please give me enough power to sustain this..Or give me strength to stand for the elections next time...and many people of my nation to contest in the polls and win....

holding my fingers crossed....

May 16th come soon...!!!!

Moonlight Trek to Skandagiri

See the pics here
A long lived dream came true a week ago!! Yes...finally i reached the top of skandagiri!!!
I had seen enough mails and googled enough about this hill and heard a lot about this from my bro..And i had a burning desire to capture this peak one night..
And had planned for this many a times but it got cancelled all the times!!!
But finally it was deepak (my colleague) who called me one afternoon and fixed a team outing on 12th april midnight and my immediate answer was YES!!!
I'm coming...to-hell with others...if nobody comes we both shall reach the top.
This was actually not the right time to visit skandagiri(Kalavara betta, as it is called after the village located at the foothills of skandagiri) and the best time is during winter . The sunrise is awesome and the clouds are below you if it is winter (Oct-Feb). And now it was just a visit..just an attempt to know how to reach the top...
allright...
All of us (Me ,Deepak, Arun Shankar, Narayan,Yathish Deepak's friend and Narayan's friend ) planned to meet at Ashram circle McDonald's at 10PM and have a burger or two and leave for Skandagiri. It is about 75Km from mainland Bangalore towards Devanahalli Airport. Go towards the famous Nandi Hills and take a right. There u find muddenahalli and from muddenahalli to kalavara halli and there u find an ashram and that is the foothill of Kalavara betta...
And coming to our story, We left Ashram at 10:45 pm and started our journey. Reached Airport after a 10 minute ride @ 60kmph u'll find a small tea stall where u can ask the way to kalavara betta (as we did) and trust me he'll show u the better way of reaching that place...And then take a left after devanahalli. It is a four lane expressway so be careful....u wont find the tiny 40 ft road towards your left and might end up reaching Hyderabad!!!
Then after a few minutes' ride we reached the nandi hills where ,at 12:15am, we could see shops and many bikes and bikers!! So it is a hit spot for night trek!!That was a good decision by us ,i thought..
Then came the real hurdle...thereafter it's all sunshaan galli and bhoukte kutte and few huts!!! But fortunately we could find a drunk security officer whom we asked and he directed us inspite of his high spirits!!!
But at 12:30 am we ended up nowhere..a dead end and 2 dogs behind us and a person sleeping in a hut..We had no other option than to wake him up and he made us realise that we had actually come 7Km ahead....And then we took a U-turn to ride back to muddenahalli!!!
And as per his instructions we had to take a right turn at a circle..So we looked for a circle in muddenahalli and hoila!!! We reached the place which we had never thought of visiting..Actually sir.M.Visweshwaraiah's Samadhi is in that small village of muddenahalli And once u reach that place u cannot even say u r in a small village..
The garden so well maintained and there lies the best of brains in india..The legend behind KRS, Dandeli paper mills and Bhakra and nangal project..
There lies the man who made India proud by his engineering expertise....We clicked some snaps there and left for finding the actual destiny...And after a minute's ride there came another circle..This time a lil bigger corcle!! and i was really jumping with joy as i saw the handwritten board which read "KALAVARA BETTA" in kannada and the very next moment our speedometers read 80!!!
Another 5 minute ride we reached a place where there was nothing..A small field and smaller road (kaaludaari as said in Kannada)..We were so pissed of that we took our bikes into the field and then reached a small village (i donno the name) and parked our bikes there. An elderly person greeted us and it took a minute for us to discover that the hill right in front of us was KALAVARA BETTA... And the time was 1:15...
So we started it..finally!!!
And it was in the morning we realised that the route taken by us was the toughest one..The hill was full of steep rocks and we had to climb it. It took 2 hours to reach the top and to find about a 100 people already having omletts and singing aloud around a campfire!!! Then we realised there is an easier way which takes less than 45 minutes to climb and we were like WTF!!! But later consoled ourselves saying we took the toughest way and we have reached the top!! So we are far better than the remaining 100....It was time to have omlet and a bottle of water costs there 30 bucks!!! Cost for man labour to carry everything till top...And then we slept for an hour..The temperature is about 3 degrees and no blanket can save u...The only saviour is Lord Ganesha!!! There is a temple and the garbhagudi is the best place to sleep!! And my team had to actually come and kick me to wake me up!! Then it was time to watch the sunrise which never happened!!! I mean to say in the usual expected way!! Later on we started climbing down and this time using the normal and easier way.. It took us 45 minutes to reach the bottom and another hour and a half to reach inox.. Where after all the exhaustion and sleeplessness, Vin Diesel was waiting with his vrooming car with four of my friends!!! and one final note
Fast and the furious is bull shit....So i thought i could have slept at home and would have enjoyed a sound sleep after so much of exhaustion!!!
And Skandagiri is a moderate trek and even gals can try it!! i'm telling this coz i could see about a dozen chicks there on the top!!!
so guys and gals Skandagiri is waiting for u!!!
