for the so called secularists.........

What Islam Wants: Let's Hear From Pakistan Jamat-e-Islami Leader, Maulana Nabiullah Khan
04 May, 2007

"Jamhooria Islamia", a monthly Baluchi magazine published from Panj-gar, published an interview with Maulana Nawabzadaa Nabiullah Khan, a confidant of and adviser to the Amir of leading Pakistani Islamic party, Jamaat-e-Islami, Maulana Qazi Ahmed, which was conducted by Jalil Amir. The following constitutes are excerpts from that conversation which reveals the fundamentalist ideology and designs of the organisation and its leader .
EQUALITY OF MEN AND WOMEN IS STUPIDITY

Q: The women issue is very controversial nowadays. Taliban and some fundamentalist organizations restrict the freedom of women while some progressive Muslim intellectuals are insisting that the women are equal to men in all spheres. What are Qazi's views on women?

A: As I said earlier, the Prophet Mohammad's (PBUH) views on women are the exact views of Qazi Ahmed and the Jamat. Equality of men and women is stupidity. What men can do, women cannot do. Women are weak physically and mentally compared to men. Men have to take care of women all the time.

WOMEN MUST STAY HOME

Women should not have a life outside the family. Education can be provided to them, but not to compete with men in public.

NO VOTING RIGHTS FOR WOMEN UNDER SHARIA

Qazi had said once that when JI comes to power in Pakistan, he will abolish the voting rights of women and minorities. Only the Muslim men can participate in voting or standing for elections. When I asked the proof from Hadiths, he had quoted many Hadiths in support of that. I asked him why is it that it is never talked about openly in the public by the Jamaat? Qazi had said that the hints are all over the place. But JI did not make it a big issue since the women who currently have the voting rights may vote against JI in the elections if such a thing is said openly.

NON MUSLIMS IN MUSLIM COUNTRIES MUST PAY JIZYA

Q: That brings us to the question of minorities. Will they have to pay Jizya tax?

A: Yes. They have to pay the tax. As explained by Qazi Ahmed , the idea of Jizya is not protection money. But it is a monetary force on the non-Muslim to convert to Islam. Once the Jamaat comes to power, the minorities will be induced (forced) to become Muslims either by monetary or psychological factors.

ALL INDIAN HINDUS WILL BE CONVERTED INTO ISLAM

JI is already equating India with Hindus so that the Hindus of Pakistan will be forced to become Muslims. This was a very successful strategy during the Babri Masjid riots. JI was actively involved in destroying the Hindu temples in Punjab and Sindh. We ordered the destruction of the Hindu family property too. But our main aim was to destroy the Hindu temples. We wrote in the JI pamphlets that destroying each pagan temple makes a Muslim move closer to the heaven of Allah. We used the Hadiths in all the pamphlets. Babar destroyed the Ram temple in Ayodhya because he was a true believer. The same way, every Muslim should take it upon himself to destroy the Hindu temples in Pakistan. O! ur idea was to encourage the Muslims of India also to destroy the Hindu temples in India. But this was not met with much success since the Hindu police in India started attacking the Muslims who were doing Allah's duty.

Q: What kind of government does JI envisage for Pakistan?

A: It will be the Sharia government. Sharia will be made our constitution so that the eminent Muslim scholars who had completed the schooling in Madrasas will be appointed as the Judges in every court. Qazi wanted to make the presidium on the same model as the Khalifa. Presently our idea is that the entire top leadership of JI as well as all three military Generals will be part of the presidium for which the Qazi will be the Khalifa.

OUR MOTTO IS CONSTANT JIHAD

Our motto is "Constant Jihad". The idea is to keep Pakistan in a constant state of Jihad all the time. Qazi's vision is that Pakistan will be! the centre of the new Islamic Empire that stretches from Burma to Afghanistan and from Srilanka to Tajikistan including Kashmir

Towards that end, the Jamaat will use all tactics from terrorism in the kafir-controlled areas to negotiations in the Muslim controlled areas. Already the Jamaat leaders of Bangladesh and Jamaat leaders of India have accepted the primacy of Pakistani leadership in this regard.

SRI LANKA AND BURMA WILL BE PRESSURIZED TO CONVERT TO ISLAM

Q: What about Srilanka and Burma?

A: Both are Buddhist nations. For that matter even Baluchistan and Afghanistan were Buddhist once while Sindh and Punjab were Hindu earlier. Buddhists are generally weaker in matters of faith. Hence we hope they will become Muslim with a little pressure. But that will happen only after Jamaat conquers first Pakistan and then India.

Q: What are the plans for India? It looks like the entire India policy of the Jamaat revolves around Kashmir.

A: Yes that is true. But that is for a very good reason. See Kashmir is like a keystone that sits on top of the arch. It is true that the arch holds the entire weight of the keystone. But if you remove the keystone, then the whole arch falls down. That is why it is called the keystone. Kashmir is the keystone for India. Once you remove that, then India can no longer be secular and it will not be a united country either. Once Kashmir is taken out, these militancy movements will break India by asking the similar freedom for Nagaland, Kerala, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Manipur, Assam, Jharkand, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal and Khalistan.

INDIA WILL BE MADE A 100% MUSLIM NATION

Q: Coming back to the same point, if India was to become many countries, how do you deal with the individual Hindu States? They may even become big enemies of Pakistan. Or they may again re-group to challenge Pakistan.

A: Given the differences between the nationalities in India, the options for Pakistan are endless. Qazi's vision is to make the entire India a 100% Muslim Nation. A United India, where Hindus are majority is an impediment to that. Like Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) made Muslims out of pagans of Arabia, Qazi also wants to make Muslims out of the pagans of India.

Q: This is a great vision since this was not even possible for the Muslim dynasties and Moguls who ruled India for the last 700 years.

A: True. That is because they had never really established the Muslim Empire. Though the Kings were Muslims, they had entertained the Hindus in positions of power. When you make an unequivocal statement that only Muslims are voters and declare that India is an Islamic Republic, then automatically the people will become Muslims. Little bit of terror had to be applied to the heart of Hindus and Christians. I will give you a best example. The portions which now constitute Pakistan had 25% Hindu population before Independence.

TERRORIZATION IS THE BEST CONVERSION TOOL

After Independence, a lot of Hindus migrated to India. Yet after the migration, the Pakistani Hindu population was 15%. Do you know what is the percentage now? It is less than 1%. How was this made possible? How did the Hindus convert to Islam in a short span of 20 years whereas for 700 years they had never converted to Islam? That is purely because of the terror of the Partition.

That terror forced the Hindus who remained in Pakistan to become Muslims. Pure and simple. JI used similar techniques in Punjab and Sindh. Each time a riot breaks out in India, we had used that pretext to strike terror among the Hindus, Christians and Ahmaddiahs. The similar terror will be at the heart of every non-Muslim, both Hindu as well as Christian, in the coming years in the entire of India. PRPOHET SUCCEEDED WITH TERROR SO CAN WE Qazi is an analytical genius who knows every strategy that was used by Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) and which will be and should be used in India to achieve the total submission to Allah.

Q: Do you envision a possibility that when Kashmir becomes part of Pakistan, there could be large-scale riots in India against Indian Muslims? Hence unwittingly Kashmir could lead to more deaths of Indian Muslims and damage Islamic Ummah.

ANY MUSLIM ASSOCIATING WITH A POLYTHEIST BECOMES A POLYTHEIST

A: Yes that is a possibility. But our ideology is based on Quran and Hadiths. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) in numerous Hadiths and Allah in Quran had said that any Muslim who associates with a polytheist is a polytheist. Muslims cannot be friendly with a non-Muslim. This includes the Christians, Jews and Hindus. Also Mohammad (PBUH) says that even if the Muslim ruler is not good, the Muslims stay with the ruler rather than go out to a non-Muslim country. Hadiths and Quran are very explicit regarding this. All the Muslims who did not migrate to Pakistan during Partition are in essence Hindus. They may think that they are Muslims. But not before Allah.

They are as self-deluded as the Ahmaddiahs who think they are Muslims when everyone knows that they are not Muslims. Hence the Muslims of India who had decided to stay in India during Partition are not Muslims and their progeny are not Muslim (since they did not migrate to Muslim lands).

Another thing that I noticed in my journeys in India is that the Hindu farmers generally offer their entire harvest to their gods at the end of their harvesting season. This makes the entire crop as haram for Muslims. Yet these so-called Muslims of India are forced to eat this food which was already offered to some other God other than Allah. This is explicitly forbidden in Quran.

MUSLIMS GOING TO NON MUSLIM COUNTRIES TO SETTLE DOWN ARE KAFIRS

And this is one of the serious problems of living in non-Muslim countries. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) knew such things; that is why he ordered Muslims not to live in non-Muslim areas. Yet knowingly these so-called Muslims live in India. AGAIN ALL THE MUSLIMS WHO MIGRATE TO OTHER NON MUSLIM COUNTRIES AND US ARE NON MUSLIMS . Only the Muslims who intend to come back are Muslims not the ones who decide to stay in such countries. Hence we do not care if such Indian Muslims die in the riots.

But due to strategy reasons we do have excellent relations with these Muslims. All the Muslims who work for Pakistan and for the glory of Ummah are real Muslims. They are our front line troops in non-Muslim countries. Hence we have to distribute the arms and ammunitions to these real Muslims in case riots come to their door.

The Kashmiri Muslims are pure Muslims who are toiling under the yoke of Hindu rule. They are victimized by the international conspiracy to keep them under the Hindu rule. That issue is part of the incomplete Partition, whereas the Indian Muslims have accepted Partition and stayed on in India knowingly.

JAMAT WILL BRING SLAVERY BACK TO PAKISTAN Arabians own slaves. Though Allah says that the slaves should be treated in a nice manner, he did not advocate the abolition of slavery. If slavery is bad as considered in today's world, Allah certainly would have said that slavery is wrong. Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) also said that the slaves should be treated in a good manner and the slaves should be released often. But if there is no slavery, how can anyone release slaves? Hence the re-introduction of slavery in Pakistan is one of the future plans of the Jamaat.

ALL CAPTURED HINDUS WILL BE MADE SLAVES

All the captured Hindu Indians and Srilankans will be made slaves to work for Pakistani Muslims. Every God-abiding Pakistani Muslim will get slaves once we conquer India. All the slaves who embrace Islam will be set free. Slavery is Islamic. Jamaat is the only political party, which does not voice any opposition to the slavery in Pakistan. We went around all over Arabia. We were surprised to know that there are some Hindus in Yemen. These ancient Yemeni Hindus are not Indians. In my opinion, these Hindus are traders from India in the ancient times. I was also surprised to know that they have a Shiva temple in Yemen. Qazi was very unhappy over this. When he talked to the Yemen leaders, he broached this subject. But the Yemeni leaders refused Qazi's suggestion of forced conversion of these people to Islam. I don't know why they refused. I think it may be due to the large population of Hindus from India who work in Yemen and Arabia. He disliked the current leadership of Arabia for this reason.

In his opinion, Arabia should not allow any non-Muslim into the holy lands of Arabia. Arabia should be 100% pure. A large number of Hindus in Arabia is corrupting the Arabians. Though they live as contractors, they have the potential to corrupt the minds of the Arabians.

HINDU TEMPLES POLLUTE MUSLIM LANDS

One such thing is the presence of Arabians in the Qatar Hindu temple. First the king allowed the Hindus to build a temple and church in the holy lands, thereby polluting the Holy Land. Second is that even a member of the Royal family visited that temple to inaugurate that temple. To the horror of Qazi, he had learnt that one of the powerful members of the Qatar Royal family is a devotee of a god called Aayappan. This news resolved Qazi to fight the force of the devil thousand fold.

Q: Such things happen in Pakistan today. I mean a friend of mine goes to a Hindu temple. Another friend goes to church meetings.

A: Yes. One of Qazi's relatives wanted to become a Hindu. He did not have a child for many years and it seems he had prayed to a Hindu God and got the child. Hence he felt thankful to that god and wanted to become a Hindu. Qazi got to know of this and called him and threatened him with dire consequences. That relative did not become a Hindu. But that incident made Qazi read more about apostasy.

PUNISHMENT FOR APOSTASY IS DEATH

Quran and Hadith clearly say the punishment for abandonment of Islam is death. Since Sharia is not the law in Pakistan, and the current Pakistani Constitution grants the right to change religion, it is legally correct to declare oneself as Hindu or Christian. But once the JI takes over the government, it will make Sharia as the Constitution. Then Pakistan will also legally execute any person who leaves Islam and joins Ahmaddiah, Christianity or Hinduism the same way Iran and Taliban treats its apostates. He also opined that the presence of the Hindu temples in Pakistan is the root cause of the problem and hence we want to destroy all the Hindu temples and Churches in Pakistan.

Q: This brings us into another area. Right now the Internet is becoming widespread. Even Saudi Arabia is connected with the outside world. Destroying the temples may be good, but how can we insulate the Pakistani and Muslim people against the corrupting knowledge totally?

A: JI had taken a principled stand on the matter of science and religion. Religion is far superior to science.

ALL THE WORLDS KNOWLEDGE IS IN QURAN AND HADITHS

Whatever man needs to know is in the Quran and Hadiths. Knowing more will create problems like the Atom bomb and Television.

MUSIC TV AND PHOTOGRAPHY ARE SATANIC AND HARAM Quran and Hadiths are explicit in denouncing pictures. Yet the lure of Satan in the form of photography and television is eating our lives.

Music previously was confined only to the vocal singing. Now science and technology made the music widespread at a cheaper price. These are the lures of Satan. We have to be on guard against these harami things.

SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY ARE BAD FOR CIVILIZATION

Hence, more science and technology is bad for the civilization. I had completed civil engineering. Hence I am privy to scientific knowledge. I can tell you how corrupting that is. It even makes you question the glorious Quran.

EARTH IS FLAT There are many Hadiths, which say that the earth is flat. But any science will tell you the earth is a sphere. But you can use the same science like the relativity theory to prove that the earth is flat. It is the same case with evolution. But the point being that doubt is sown in the minds of the people on the validity of the Quran as the word of God. More and more we work hard to prove the Quran's scientific correctness, more and more people will get apprehensive of the truth of the Quran. This is an abomination.

WHEN ISLAM TALKS OF GET EDUCATED IT MEANS QURANIC EDUCATION

This is why when we talk of education, we talk of religious education and not scientific education.

It is true that science grew after the Prophet's revolution in Arabia. That was the start of science. Now each and every science is filled with anti-god stuff. If you want to become a doctor, you have to read evolution. If you have to read any engineering, you have to believe in the billions of years old universe theory which effectively says that human beings came to the world only just one or two million years back.

Q: But we still need the arms and knowledge of the Western world, which believes in science. And again you had referred to television as evil. If we abolish photography how can we have passports or identification cards?

A: Yes. That is strategic. With the help of Allah, we will be given oil for them to run their cars and we will have arms in that place. We will use their arms to destroy them in the course of time.

PHOTOGRAPHY WILL BE BANNED UNDER JI

As far as photos are concerned, they will be banned as it was done in Afghanistan under Taliban. If there is no need for people to go out of Pakistan, where is the need for the passports? For those who have to travel to other countries like the leaders of the revolution, they only will be given the passport with photos. For that, we will allow limited photography licensed only to the government. And the biggest corruption in today's Pakistan is Indian satellite TV and Indian cinemas and Indian songs. We have to abolish these too.

ARABIC WILL BE MADE OFFICIAL LANGUAGE OF PAKISTAN

Q: Currently we have a lot of opposition from Mohajirs regarding reservations. What kind of reservation policy will the JI will have in Pakistan?

A: We approach that problem as the problem of language. Urdu-speaking Muslims and Sindhi-speaking Muslims are fighting now. We plan to abolish all the regional languages like Pashto, Sindhi, Baluchi, Urdu, Punjabi and Brahvi. We want all the people of Pakistan to speak Arabic which is our divine language. This will make everyone equal before everyone else and there would not be any need for language or region based reservations. We also hope that this will make the Quran and Hadiths easier to understand and will make the people follow the Quran and Hadiths to the letter.

Q: There could be language riots. One such language riot resulted in Bangladesh.

A: Bangladesh was not a result of language riot. The very idea that they are Muslims will bring the Bangladeshis to Arabic. We already fund heavily the Arabic language courses all over India, Bangladesh and Pakistan. From Morocco to Iraq speaks in Arabic, I don't see any reason why from Morocco to Burma we will not bring Arabic to the people. Even Bangladesh will start speaking in Arabic. That time there won't be any Bangladesh where the country name itself has the name of the language. Yes. Right now our aim is just for reunification without touching on the language issue of Bengali. JI of Bangladesh is working towards this aim.

Q: The secular journalists of Pakistan oppose the JI. For example the Dawn and News are very critical of the JI. How do you see their role in the future?

A: Ardheshir Cowasjee is able to work only because of the present Constitution of Pakistan. When Sharia becomes the Constitution, he cannot even approach the court, as he is a kafir. We see secular journalists as our main enemy in the current struggle to reach power. These secular journalists are digging our statements we made during the pre-Independence days and trying to beat us. Of course we opposed the creation of Pakistan during the British times. But that was a different Jamaat. Our history starts with Independence.

SECULARS ARE KAFIRS

Secular journalists are not Muslims even though some of them are carrying Muslim names. Let them come to us and let us ask questions on the Quran and Hadiths. We will prove each and every thing we say is from Quran and Hadiths. Let them prove what we say as wrong from the Quranic angle. Then we will accept them. But they cannot. They cannot match us in any debate concerning the Quran and Hadiths. We can comprehensively prove that they are indeed non-Muslims.! They are like Quadianis who say that the Muslim need not take up Jihad as an obligation. That is pure nonsense.

Q: Thanks for your time.

A: May Allah's blessings be with you.

"and the World Cup goes to........."-- not a thrill anymore

Ahhhhhhhhh…..bored of OZ monopoly in cricket….oh come on….nothin is impossible in this world… if this is true why are the aussies unbeatable in cricket????
It’s not good for the game…..monopoly of a single team for over 12 years!!!!!! 3 world cups in succession is terrible….!!!! And four consecutive WC final matches is terrible again……
I’m getting bored of cricket(as if I was interested before….lolzzzzz)…
I got an interesting sms and ofcourse very near to reality…..
ICC is simply wasting its money on cricket…next WCs will have a grand opening ceremony and the next stage is the presentation ceremony of WC to OZs….!!!!!
A thing to be thought of.!!!!! Somebody pls mail icc officials to implement this…..
A big fuss on icc WC will be gone……..

And many more advantages v can see……..as u know WC always comes during exams..
So that simply means v r screwing up our exams for an international event (and v have a solid reason for that….exams come every year….where as WC is a once in four year guest…so more preference obviously!!!)

One thing…aren’t the OZs bored of handling the same WC everytime????ah…come on ponting….enough…..
But if one ponting goes there r 100 more pontings pointing to his position…..
Wats wrong with other teams????
Come on….
Aaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh

INDIA WINS THE GAME....BUT INDIANS LOSE IT......:

ah...what a match!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
india v/s srilanka...17/2/2007.....
india wins the toss and elects to fiels.....indeed,a gr8 decision by dravid....

the bugle blows and the blue brigade battles......it battles and battles...the lankan lions appear lean
and lazy before the lavishing indians....
as the captain of lankan team said after losing to india...."we were bad @ everything except silva's batting"
that was the indian efficiency...that was the indian confidence...and that...that was the zeal and enthusiasm of the indians...

each one of them tried to give their 100% every single time...and..they succeeded....

in batting india shined.....uthappa..sehwag(he was taught a lesson for being lazy!!! it costed him his wicket when he was in full form and appeared more responsible cricketer..)
i was literally wonderstuck....is this the same indian team?????

finally after a astonishing knock by yuvraj.....and a superb partnership by dada and yuvi..india emerges victorious!!!!
till now i was really happy.......
but.....

later lookin @ the crowd..i concluded that v have lost the game.....
excited crowd expressed their joy and happiness at the cost of our international image!!!!
what will the international delegates and the players and the ICC think of the crowd??
the heights of insanity v showed really made me feel.......that it was better if v lost the game....
or.....who knows.....in a dull and enraged mood the crowd might have spoiled the ground and instead of
bottles chairs might have hit the ground.........
oh god......when wil this bloody indian mentality change?
an indian who is in USA or UK is most dignified...he never spits...he never parks the
car wherever he wants...he never feels lke offerin bribe to the officer who catches and penalises him...
but the moment he reaches india...his mouth itches and he spits on the streets.....
he parks in no parking and bribes the police who penalises him......y indians..y?

the same mentality was of the crowd who were in the match.........oh come on......if v won....rejoice....celebrate....
sing aloud...dance till the earth shakes......make ur music systems sing till the speakers burst out...
or even go n worship ur players........who cares....
but throwin the waste bottles is certainly not the way....
come on india......
its high time to change ur mentality...
the spot light is on india now....whole world is lookin towards us.....v r leading the way....
v r leaders in almost everything....
then y cant v be leaders in real sportsmanship and real discipline?????
think...think......

I’m back wid a confused mind.........after watchin dhoom-2….

Ok…ok…..now let me tel u how v planned it and how excited we were and how we bought tickets……….and lastly how everything went in vain!!!!!!!!!

I’d rather call it “THE TRAGIC STORY OF D:2”

The whole cult team met @ the bakery for 4 days and decided to DHOOM after the exams!!! (Yes…our exams r going on now…) a meetin @ our usual spot and then 8 of us vrooooooomed rather dhooooomed to the theatre @ 11am!!!!!!!!!and that was to book the tickets for 3pm show!!!!!!! We were in need of 23 tickets and looking @ the queue v had almost dropped our plans and decided to droop back……..

But…….

We somehow managed to get 13 tickets and the counter closed…….and remaining tickets in black…..(we were like….anything for DHOOM………!!!!)

We were back home and sharp @ 2:15 we al were there in the theatre premises…….

(never in the 3 yrs of engg life I came early to the class…..but dhoom was something more than the borin lectures….as I thot it b4 the movie!!!!!)

v entered the theatre and …………..

it began…………abhishek bachchan jumps outta water while he’s on the “patpati”(as uday chopra calls it….)…me nd megha started rolling on the floor…..i mean…..wtf?

it dint stop there……..whole of the movie u get to find many such things….

While stealing the diamond the image of the diamond is created….it was like watchin some rajanikanth movie….(I think everybody knows the Newton-rajnikanth mail !!!)

Hrithik escapes into the manhole and jumps outta another manhole….along with him the gutter water splashes out….my mouth fell open…WHAT A FART!!!!!! He blew himself up!!!!! And the chase scene……..on his skates hrithik is faster than hayabusa that too without accelerator his skates vroom out….Suzuki people would have sued him for that……and the magnetic field in his hands makes him move even more faster!!!!it also helps him climb bus and buildings…..if I get one of such things my HOD will be the happiest man on earth…I’ll never be late to classes…..!!!!!! 8am…..the siren goes and I take my skates and activate magnetic field and aaaaaaahhhhhhh…….m standin before the class door!!!!!!

And when security catches hrithik after they steal the sword……….. from where did hrithik come flying to save aishwarya??????!!!!!!!!what were the police doing?

Aish’s acting????????yuck….puke puke puke…..blend of over acting served hot with least dressing!!!!!!!

Many more questions u find in dhoom 2…….and solutions!!!!!!!!ah…exams r nearing…so m talking all about quest and answers!!!!

After the movie I remembered one saying…..”if u cant convince them confuse them…..if u cant beat them join them!!!!”

The director has followed the first line effectively……..

So that was dhoom 2………

a speech which makes every hindu proud of himself......

hi all....this is the speech given by swami vivekananda at the world summit of religions in 1893, sept 11.......in CHICAGO..........
really inspiring....

Sisters and Brothers of America,

It fills my heart with joy unspeakable to rise in response to the warm and cordial welcome which you have given us. I thank you in the name of the most ancient order of monks in the world; I thank you in the name of the mother of religions, and I thank you in the name of millions and millions of Hindu people of all classes and sects.

My thanks, also, to some of the speakers on this platform who, referring to the delegates from the Orient, have told you that these men from far-off nations may well claim the honor of bearing to different lands the idea of toleration. I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world both tolerance and universal acceptance. We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true. I am proud to belong to a nation which has sheltered the persecuted and the refugees of all religions and all nations of the earth. I am proud to tell you that we have gathered in our bosom the purest remnant of the Israelites, who came to Southern India and took refuge with us in the very year in which their holy temple was shattered to pieces by Roman tyranny. I am proud to belong to the religion which has sheltered and is still fostering the remnant of the grand Zoroastrian nation. I will quote to you, brethren, a few lines from a hymn which I remember to have repeated from my earliest boyhood, which is every day repeated by millions of human beings: "As the different streams having their sources in different paths which men take through different tendencies, various though they appear, crooked or straight, all lead to Thee."

The present convention, which is one of the most august assemblies ever held, is in itself a vindication, a declaration to the world of the wonderful doctrine preached in the Gita: "Whosoever comes to Me, through whatsoever form, I reach him; all men are struggling through paths which in the end lead to me." Sectarianism, bigotry, and its horrible descendant, fanaticism, have long possessed this beautiful earth. They have filled the earth with violence, drenched it often and often with human blood, destroyed civilization and sent whole nations to despair. Had it not been for these horrible demons, human society would be far more advanced than it is now. But their time is come; and I fervently hope that the bell that tolled this morning in honor of this convention may be the death-knell of all fanaticism, of all persecutions with the sword or with the pen, and of all uncharitable feelings between persons wending their way to the same goal.

so from now onwards "garv se kaho hum hindu hai"

DHAMAKEDAAR DIWALI........

HI ALL.............THIS IS HOW MY DIWALI WAS........

This diwali was decided to be celebrated at my native…and so from dharwad me n my bro left for dodnalli(dodnalli is the name of my place….@ sirsi….a small village with lots of loving hearts…..and it doesn’t mean its name…..it’s not at all doddda(= big)…..donno who named it so!!!!)

On the morning of diwali (Sunday the 22nd) we 3…aha don’t worry…. no witch or geists there…its me, my bro and my wife!!!!!aaaaaaahhhhhhhh my wife is my pulsar….cool….sexy….though she’s jet black in colour…….oh….where was i….? Ok…. we 3 left for dodnalli at 6am!!!! A time which I hardly happen to see…. sun was still in a slumber party and the cool breeze was refrigerating me…and without sweaters or wind cheaters, the wind will cheat u…!!!! for about 10 kms the road was ok, the atmosphere was chill and clear. But later on the Indian roads started cursing me…my wife literally started to screw me up….she threw me up every 2nd minute and me and my bro adjusted ourselves on her!!!! But finally a ray of hope……..i saw NH63 nearing and my wife gained power and vrooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooom

………….60kmph……..80kmph…….100kmph and finally 110 kmph…oh….i felt like valentine rossi for a while!!!…..we were too fast too furious………..but then there was another interrupt………as we entered the “malenaadu” area….dense dew reduced our speed.. I could hardly see anything even with the headlights!!!!3 mtrs was the range of my sight…..it was a DEWali for us!!!!! But finally after a journey of 4 hours(it’s only 130 kms from dharwad) we reached dodnalli……

Oh…my home….all decorated with colourful rangolis and doors with mango leaves…..we felt a feel of festival……there in sirsi and nearby places diwali is all about worshipping cows(“gopooja”) and of course the weapons and machines. So my wife was cleaned and she was all ready for her day!!!

After a long gap I saw crackers and enjoyed rockets and sur-sur bathis…..and also some blasters…….all lights……all bright…….all pooja and sweets…..new dresses….decoration…..fun……enjoyment……!!!!!!!!!!
Aaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh why is everyday not diwali?????

The whole family of ours was there….all of them singing dancing and shouting…..
No vehicles….no pollution…no cell phones……no calls…..no books….100% pure enjoyment…..
But….but…but…wait…….

Another 48 hours and i would be a rocket!!!!!!!! Guess why…? ?????? my ass would be on fire…….’coz Thursday college starts and internals!!!!!!!! Omg……but who cares…..
Diwali is diwali…….no exam…no war can steal the fun of diwali from me…….
But sure to flunk(less than 9) in internals!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And finally on the last day of diwali there in sirsi we send BALI maharaja (one who was buried by vaamana..) and shout “DUPPADA DUPPADA DIWAALYO….NAALE BARUVADU HAALABBA”(only BALI knows what it means!!!!..............

So Mr.BALI I’m waiting for your next year visit……………oh my gosh……..my internals!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I gotta study…….
Bye all

I WAS BORN INTELLIGENT...BUT....EDUCATION RUINED ME....

hey.....v all r proud to be educated(so called literates) right??????
just take ur time to read this........

Lord McCaulay - A British writer, historian and Parliamentarian, responsible for making the choice of Modern English Education for Indians stated in his speech of 1835 at British Parliament.

"I have traveled across the length and breadth of India and I have not seen
one person who is a beggar, who is a thief. Such wealth I have seen in this
country, such high moral values, people of such caliber, that I do not think we
would ever conquer this country, unless we break the very backbone of this
nation, which is her spiritual and cultural heritage, and, therefore, I propose
that we replace her old and ancient education system, her culture, for if
the Indians think that all that is foreign and English is good and greater than
their own, they will lose their self-esteem, their native self-culture and
they will become what we want them, a truly dominated nation".

-Lord McCaulay in his speech of Feb 2, 1835, British Parliament ..........

dear frnds....

a cultured illeterate is better than a McCaulay's literate....
so lets be real literates as said by swamy vivekananda....

v r all indians by colour and british by thoughts and actions.....
no...we wont let it happen...
mother india cant be a slave again....

lets sing in unison...sar kata sakte hain lekin sar jhuka sakte nahin

VANDE MATARAM-the song which shook the british empire....

HI ALL...............'M BACK AGAIN WITH A SERIOUS TOPIC....

Friends,
At a time when there is a doubt about singing Our National Song, let us remember the different spirit with which our Bretherns at the time of National Independence Movement, had used our traditions and Cultural events. Remember, the festival of Rakhi was used as a sign of Hindu Muslim Unity when the British wanted to divide the United Bengal – and they had to withdraw the decision.
Similarly the song – Vande Mataram is just not a tribute to the Nation in the form of Mother but also a tribute to the people who felt like the way they felt, got motivated to sacrifice everything for the cause of Independence – SO THAT You and ME CAN HAVE A COMFORTABLE LIFE.
DO WE HAVE NO REGARDS FOR THEIR SENTIMENTS?
IF WE AS INDIANS HAVE REGARDS THEN WHY CAN'T WE SING THE ENTIRE SONG?

I LOVE MY NATION AND WORSHIP THOSE GREAT FREEDOMFIGHTERS AS NONE LESS THEN SAINTS FOR THEY CARED FOR OTHERS AND NOT FOR THEMSELVES. – A LANGUAGE THAT WE DON'T UNDERSTAND.
VANDE MATARAM IS THE POWERFUL CHANT WHICH ENLIGHTENED LACS OF FREEDOM FIGHTERS....
IT INSPIRED ALL OF THEM TO GIVE THEIR LIVES AND TAKE LIVES OF ENEMIES FOR THE SAKE OF THEIR MOTHER...
IT WORSHIPS BHARAT MATA AS THE ALL POWERFUL MOTHER....
IT IS THE SONG WHICH EACH AND EVERY PATRIOT WANTS TO LISTEN...ALL DAY ALL NIGHT..
IT IS THE SONG WHICH LITS EVERY HEART WITH A FIRE OF PATRIOTISM......
THIS IS THE BEST WAY OF INTRODUCING OUR MOTHERLAND TO ANYBODY..........
AND THATS WHY TILL TODAY ANY PATRIOT WILL GET MESMERISED WHEN HE LISTENS TO VANDE MATARAM........

BUT...

*WHY IS IT THAT SOME INSTITUTIONS ARE NOT READY TO SING THE SONGS?????
LET ME BE CLEAR........
*WHY SOME MADARASAS AND SOME CHRISTIAN LED INSTITUTIONS REFUSED TO SING VANDE MATARAM???

*WHY THERE WERE RIOTS OPPOSING THE SONG?

are they not the sons of this soil? if yes then y cant they sing this song?
why do you say it hurts the RELIGIOUS SENTIMENTS? in what way does your religion objects u people being patriots?????

if, for you your religion comes first and then the motherland then u dont deserve to be in any nation mapped on the globe........
shame on your part...
u insulted lacs and lacs of patriots....
their holy blood....
my dear opposers let me make it clear to u that today u r in free india.....
breathing the clear air of freedom just because of their sacrifice....
and it's ur prime duty to respect them......
shame on ur part...
shame on u.....

Here is the Full song written by Shri Bankim Chandra Chatterjee and the English Translation of the Same by
Rishi Aurobindo. –

Translation by Shree Aurobindo

Mother, I bow to thee!
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
bright with orchard gleams,
Cool with thy winds of delight,
Dark fields waving Mother of might,
Mother free.
Glory of moonlight dreams,
Over thy branches and lordly streams,
Clad in thy blossoming trees,
Mother, giver of ease
Laughing low and sweet!
Mother I kiss thy feet,
Speaker sweet and low!
Mother, to thee I bow.

Who hath said thou art weak in thy lands
When the sword flesh out in the seventy million hands
And seventy million voices roar
Thy dreadful name from shore to shore?
With many strengths who art mighty and stored,
To thee I call Mother and Lord!
Though who savest, arise and save!
To her I cry who ever her foeman drove
Back from plain and Sea
And shook herself free.

Thou art wisdom, thou art law,
Thou art heart, our soul, our breath
Though art love divine, the awe
In our hearts that conquers death.
Thine the strength that nervs the arm,
Thine the beauty, thine the charm.
Every image made divine
In our temples is but thine.

Thou art Durga, Lady and Queen,
With her hands that strike and her
swords of sheen,
Thou art Lakshmi lotus-throned,
And the Muse a hundred-toned,
Pure and perfect without peer,
Mother lend thine ear,
Rich with thy hurrying streams,
Bright with thy orchard gleems,
Dark of hue O candid-fair
In thy soul, with jewelled hair
And thy glorious smile divine,
Lovilest of all earthly lands,
Showering wealth from well-stored hands!
Mother, mother mine!
Mother sweet, I bow to thee,
Mother great and free!

SRI GURUJI

M.S.Golwalkar

Introduction

He was well known as 'Guru' throughout Bharat, and was the second Sarsangh- chalak of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh. His life was wholly dedicated to the service of Motherland. Pure like fire, tender like a flower, his was a personality lofty like the Himalayas. He was a great leader with indomitable courage and a sharp intellect.

Author - Rasika Puttige

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

M.S. Golwalkar

'Guru' is a name familiar to all. Guru was the second Sarsanghchalak of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh. His full name was Madhav Sadashiv Golwalkar.

His was an impressive personality: dignified gait; a long flowing beard reaching down to his chest; curly locks of hair touching the shoulders; a face luminous with innate intellect and learning. His was an inspiring presence. It aroused instant reverence. Whoever saw him spontaneously folded their hands and bowed their heads. Such was Guru.

He instilled patriotism in the hearts of millions of youths of the country. He explained to them the Hindu way of life and philosophy in simple words. Like a true friend, he shared in the joys and sorrows of his countrymen. He molded them into Effective instruments for the worship of Bharat Mata as her worthy children.

He demonstrated that strength derives from organization. He traveled untiringly through the length and breadth of the country almost a hundred times during the 33 years of his glorious tenure as Sarsanghchalak, kindling in the society the immortal flame of enduring love for the Motherland.

He had scaled the highest levels of spirituality through his intense austerity and perseverance. By constant study and reflection he had become a veritable treasure of knowledge. He was a voracious reader even as a boy. He avidly read whatever books he could lay his hands on, from childhood through youth. Several are the disciplines in which he had acquired commendable mastery - History, Art, Religion, Culture, Sciences, Sociology and Economics, to name a few; and he dedicated all his stupendous intellectual faculties to the service of the country. He vastly expanded the network of Rashtriya Swayam Sevak Sangh in multiple directions, and inspired and guided thousands of efficient dedicated workers spread throughout the country.

BANGLA CRESCENT........."SAVE ME" CRIES MOTHER INDIA...........:

BANGLADESH INFILTRATION:

First of all let me request you all to take enough time to read this mail and analyze the present situation of our nation. If you care for our nation then you will definitely be shocked after reading this mail.

"Bangladesh is a venomous snake.. Never feed it with milk" said M.S.Golwalkar, famous as Sri Guruji. Then we ignored him but today we can see the 'rudra taandava' of the Bangla infiltrators. According to reports there are about 3 crore bangla infiltrators in this country. They are spread all over the country. This is supported by the govt of Bangladesh. In Bangla there are several govt run institutions where they teach Assamese, Manipuri, Hindi and other Indian languages to the infiltrators and send them into our nation.

You will be surprised to see that there is no fencing at the I.B(International Border). Anyone can easily walk without any fear into our nation and nobody can ask. The infiltrators are provided with ration cards and voters id for 1500 rupees(it's obvious that our pig headed pretty politicians do it for their votes...). So all that you have to spend is 1500 rupees to become a voting citizen of India. Surprisingly our so-called netas provide them with their identity proofs. Clearly for the fact that the infiltrators are the big vote bank for them. In the purvanchal(assam,meghalaya,sikkim,etc.....also called the 9 sisters..) states its their votes which decides the ruler. So days are not far when we'll find one infiltrators in our parliament. In Delhi alone there are 13 lakh Bangladeshis!!!!!!(believe it or not.....call axn people...).

All the Bangladeshis are sent inside for the cause of jihad (Muslim holy war). On an average each Bangla infiltrator saves and sends 30 rupees per day to Bangladesh for the cause of jihad. We can find masjids and madrasaas exactly on the I.B..(again axn....i mean what i say...u can check it out in the cd i have!!!) When asked about caphirs and jihad, a 6 year old child says "jihad is a holy war against caphirs (non-muslims or the people who don't follow allah and prophet muhammed)…caphirs are to be killed mercilessly so that the one who kills will get jannat(heaven) for his deed." At such a tender age they are taught about how to kill and who is to be killed. When they grow up they attack the parliament, they kill innocent people in Kashmir valley, they attack raghunath mandir, they attack akshardham mandir, they attack ayodhya mandir, they attack Indian Institute of Science, they attack Mumbai, they blast the streets of Delhi, they attack RSS head quarters, they attack me, they attack you,and they attack our society and our economy....so mother india cries......

Is there an end for this?????? I say YES……ask a question to yourself…who changed this nation????? No doubt the answer is youth.to quote a few names.... Bhagat.singh, Azad, Swami Vivekananda, Madan lal dhingra, Ram prasad Bismill. Not only in one field but wherever you go the changes are brought about by the youth. So now the responsibility of saving the nation is on our shoulders. Let us do it. Let us take the nation to the height of prosperity.

If you feel this is forwarding please do it. Let us pass this message to all the youth community. Let there be awareness among the youth. Else we are heading towards the DEAD END…

waiting for ur comments..............

BOOK REVIEW: AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 DAYS........

Around the World in 80 days
Author: Jules Verne

THINK FRNDS THINK...........AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
M LOVIN IT..........

Can you travel around the world in eighty days?
Ofcourse why not!
But if you were challenged to travel, all the distance only on steamers and trains, would you go in for such a bet?
Well, what about the delay due to various reasons, including those due to bad weather and accidents?
Difficult isn’t it, to put your money. But the main character of Jules Verne’s “Around the world in 80 days”, Phileas Fogg, is said to have done that, way back in 1872.
"Around the world in 80 days” is all about the journey of Phileas Fogg, across the world. Through this "journey", the author tries to capture the landscapes, the people and the culture, across vast parts of the world, through the eyes of an English traveler. This notional journey around the world also depicts the challenges and rewards of the greater journey of life.
The book reflects the attitudes of the Englishman, mostly of the nineteenth century, towards the world. The remarks made about India and the Indians in this book are a mixture of racist bias and superiority complex, which has been often called as the "White mas's burden". This review attempts to point out these baises, without making injustice to the literary part of this work.

The main character, as you know, is Phileas Fogg, an Englishman and a Londoner. He is a thorough “gentlemen” and his manners are “English” enough for every Englishman to be proud of. He was a member of the "Reform club", where he used to spend most of his time. It was during an evening at the Reform, where in a casual colloquy about a bank robbery, that Mr Fogg got into a bet of traveling across the world in just 80 days. His friends at the Reform believed that his estimation was just mathematical, and that eighty days were just not enough. An amount of twenty thousand pounds was put at stake from both sides.

Phileas Fogg got off to a start that very night, with his French servant named Passepartout and with a huge amount of cash with him. Two more people were to join him later in his journey, serendipitously at different places. The first of them was a detective named Fix. He follows Mr Fogg, throughout his journey, in an attempt to arrest him, mistaking him for the person who had swindled off the money from the Bank of England. Fix is behind Phileas Fogg, from the time the steamer, in which the two were traveling, reaches Suez. The detective tries in vain to stop or delay them there, so that he can get the warrant issued from London. But he is determined to arrest Fogg who he believes is escaping to a safe haven. Later, on reaching Bombay too, he tries to put hurdles to delay their journey, but does’nt quite succeed in that.

The journey across the landscapes of India, where Mr Fogg and his servant travel from Bombay to Calcutta by a train is described truly in an English perspective. Although, greenery of the plains has found considerable admiration from the author, the culture and the customs have been seen from the glasses of a Westerner. The India that they knew and that they saw is all about "Elephant riders"," snake charmers", "the cold blooded thugees"," the fanatic fakirs" and the "wretched people". The author seems to be carrying that 'White man's burden' on his shoulder, of 'uplifting' the 'uncivilized' and 'wretched' people of this land.

The train journey from Bombay to Calcutta has a break of a few hundred miles near Allahabad, where the train line is yet under construction. This is the most significant part of their journey, which they travel on an elephant. During this, they courageously rescue a Parsi woman named Aouda, who is being readied for Sutte. She is beautiful and although Indian, she is “civilized” with English manners because of her English education. They take her along with them, so that she could go to a relative of hers at Hong Kong. But at Hong Kong, they don’t find the relative, and hence she proceeds with Mr Fogg on the journey.

Meanwhile, Fix tries to put all kinds of obstacles both legally and by trickery, to their journey. He does not want them to cross the English territory, for after that, arresting the 'culprit' would be a more complicated process, involving extradition. But all these challenges and others caused by nature too, are handled by Fogg, with a great amount of shrewdness. In the face of the greatest challenges too, he does not loose his composure. He puts in, enough money to deal with each of these problems. And to the frustration of the detective, the trio, led by Fogg, cross over to the American continent. Fix, changes his approach and now tries to help Fogg in his journey, so that he could be arrested back on the English soil.

Americans too, are seen with an air of English superiority, as reckless and violent. Then there are the “Indians and the beasts” that mercilessly attack innocent travelers on the trains. There is also the tyrannical fanatic cult, the Mormonists.

The end though of this journey is more thrilling than the last ball of Lagan. Fogg tries hard, but reaches five minutes late, only to realize that he gained a day by traveling to the east, across the world. After the journey though, he has almost spent, as much as he wins in the bet. So he has gained nothing at all from the journey across the world, but for Aouda, who later marries him. The author asks “ Truly, would you not for less than that, make the tour around the world?”.

MY FIRST SHARE TRADE......!!!!!!!

HI ALL...........
King is back after a loooooooong break.......

But this time with a real interesting and funny story of my great loss in SHARE TRADING...!!!!

Ok…ok…..
Now let me start with this interesting story………I entered the share market today!!!!!!!
It’s really a gr8 experience so thought of sharing it with u all…….

Okey……….what’s this share market???? Is the BIG Q……….well, infact, I don’t know….!! But I’m trying and struggling hard to learn it in detail….. I was told its something magical but today I realized it……..oh……..so much of tension……I was staring at zee business and saw that ranbaxy labs’ shares are jumping and trying to kiss the sky……so I purchased some shares of it (I wont disclose how many ‘coz the number of shares is too low!!!)……..then began the real excitement…..blood pressure went as high as the share value and I was connected to the net the whole day.….and I felt as if the lady in zee business was talking to me continuously…..giving me the updates of ranbaxy…….
I purchased them for 392.70 per share and the graph started to rise……393……..395………and within half an hour it was almost close to 399………I was jumping with joy and my reverie started………
Earning lakhs and lakhs and my bank acc full of market money……..a zee ad fuelled my reverie telling that they are the most trustworthy channel and how a 16 yr boy was earning millions a day….!!!!!!! Believe me they showed it in such a manner that I trusted them and I thought I would be the next person whom they would shoot (camera shooting not the gun shooting….)………

By then my share value had reached 400 and then I don’t know who laid a weight on the arrow pointer…….the share started to fall……..it fell…..fell……….fell……..and was inversely proportional to my blood pressure!!!!!
I called my brother twice and messaged him many a times and asked him whether to keep the shares or sell them off???????
But he asked me to retain them………..
Then came down the share value and never glanced up!!!!!!
By the end of the day it stopped at 389…….!!!!!! I’m hitting myself for not having sold my shares when it reached 400…..:-(
But its ok………day started with a value of 380 and closed at 389…………so not bad.
So in a couple of days I can expect a profit!!!!!!
So this was my first share trade…..
But was really thrilling……I’m lovin it(oh ya…even McDonalds is in share market and was a day loser.!!!!!)
Ok………now another scape goat enters the DALAL STREET!!!!! Lets c whether I’ll win or lose…..
Wish me all the best…….
and will visit soon

take care....
HARSHA BHAT (the share trader!!!!!!!!)
pls dont laugh........

SIDHUISMS!!!!!!!

ever heard Navjot Singh Sidhu commentating? if not then u've missed something big!!! the similising technique he uses while commentating has become so famous in the world that they are now called SIDHUISMS!!!
Full of similes, power packed voice and a strong punching usage of English will blow u away....
Thats why sidhuisms are "as famous as a dharwad pedha"(haha...that was a harsha-ism!!!)...and they come out "as quick as a bullet from an ak-56"(ahem!!! another harsha-ism!!!).....
so i dedicate this blog to NAVJOT SINGH SIDHU.........
HAIL SIDHU-HAIL SIDHUISMS!!!!!!

(please forgive me if there are repititions.....i've typed some and the rest are from the net)

here are the few of my favourites ............

I'm as confused as a baby in a topless bar!!!

It's like one legged person participating in a bum-kicking competition!!!

Runs are flowing like the fare in Indian taxi.

Bamboozles and mesmerizes.

Its very difficult to kill a man who is hell bent upon committing suicide!

As innocent as freshly laid egg.

Sri Lankan score is running like an Indian taxi meter.

Statistics are like miniskirts, they reveal more than what they hide.

There, there, that's a dead duck!

Wickets are like wives - you never know which way they will turn!

All that comes from a cow is not milk.

If ifs and buts were pots and pans, there would be no tinkers!

When Ganguly took a catch that had gone very high in the air:
That ball went so high it could have got an air hostess down with it!

The ball whizzes past like a bumble bee and the Indians are in the sea.

The gap between bat and pad is so much that I would have driven a car
through it... !

******Some more sidhuisms(courtesy: internet)*******

Bengal without Tigers!

He's in a soup!

Commenting on Sri Lankans as demons on the slow and sluggish pitches:
When you are dining with the demon you've got to have a long spoon!

Don't open your old umbrella and run it over your shoulder.

Beauty even when silent is eloquent.

The
Indians are finding the gaps like a pin in a haystack.

Yuvraj Singh - The pied piper of Punjab!

Harbhajan - The sardar from Jalandhar !

On S.Ramesh's diving catch in 1st innings of 2nd test vs. Sri Lanka:
He flew like a bird and plucked it out of thin air.

He pierced it through an eye of a needle.

As crisp as a cracker.

New Zealanders have their limits, The kiwis are the birds that cannot fly!

About Chris Harris he said:
He is a dibbly dobbly bowler.

My idea of a bird is 36-24-36.

When he fielded well as a substitute for Sachin Tendulkar in the 1 dayers:
Ajit Agarkar is as fresh as a daisy.

When a loud appeal was rejected:
Big outcry, no outcome!

The Indians are jelling together as a cohesive unit.

The pitch is as dead as a dodo.

Dravid has hit this shot as straight as a candle.

FAVOURITE SIDHUISMS :
In the midst of a verbal duel with Martin Crowe:

Commenting on Ganguly after he was out for a low score in the 2nd
Test against Zimbabwe:
...Looks like a brooding hen over a china egg

In the midst of a verbal duel with Tony Greig:

In India's last match against New Zealand:
New Zealanders are like bicycles in a cycle stand - one falls down and
the complete row will be down!

THE ALSO - RANS SIDHUISMS
Taking the cake with a red cherry on top.
For Sri Lankan batsman Kaluwitharna, when he was wasting many balls:
He is like Indian three-wheeler which will suck a lot of diesel but cannot
go beyond 30!

To Martin Crowe:
The Indians are going to beat the Kiwis! Let me tell you, my friend,
that the Kiwi is the only bird in the whole world which does not have wings!

As cool as a cucumber!

Muralitharan bowling to the last Indian pair:
The wily fox is back. Its an ill omen when a fox licks its lambs.

Applauding Reetinder Singh Sodhi's fighting spirit:
Young Ricky will fight a rattlesnake and give him the first two bites!

. When you fall on your back side the only place you can look is up.
. That one was meant for the Air-Hostesses(on the sky-high shot by Yuvraj).

FOR TECHHIES OUT THERE............

Hi all.....This blog is dedicated to all the s/w engineers and the brave soldiers who shed their lives to keep us safe and happy....hats off to them..
Take your time to read this....comments will measure your intensity of patriotism........
(note:this is a forwarded mail to me and not my own creation...........)

Software Engineers think they create everything in the world...Read till
end....too good...

Vivek Pradhan wasn't a happy man. Even the plush comfort of the First
Class air-conditioned compartment of the Shatabdi express couldn't cool
his frayed nerves. He was the Project Manager and still not entitled to
air
travel. It was not the prestige he sought, he had tried to reason with
the admin guy, it was the savings in time. A PM had so many things to do!

He opened his case and took out the laptop, determined to put the time
to some good use.

"Are you from the software industry sir," the man beside him was staring
appreciatively at the laptop.

Vivek glanced briefly and mumbled in affirmation, handling the laptop
now with exaggerated care and importance as if it were an expensive car.

"You people have brought so much advancement to the country sir. Today
everything is getting computerized."

"Thanks," smiled Vivek, turning around to give the man a look.

He always found it difficult to resist appreciation. The man was young
and stocky like a sportsman. He looked simple and Strangely out of place
in
that little lap of luxury like a small town boy in a prep school. He
probably
was a Railway sportsman making the most of his free traveling pass.

"You people always amaze me," the man continued, "You sit in an office
and write something on a computer and it does so many big things outside."

Vivek smiled deprecatingly. Naivety demanded reasoning not anger. "It is
not as simple as that my friend. It is not just A question of writing a
few
lines. There is a lot of process that goes behind it."

For a moment he was tempted to explain the entire Software Development
Lifecycle but restrained himself to a single statement. "It is complex,
very complex."

"It has to be. No wonder you people are so highly paid," came the reply.
This was not turning out as Vivek had thought. A hint of belligerence
came into his so far affable, persuasive tone.

"Everyone just sees the money. No one sees the amount of hard work we
Have to put in." "Hard work!" "Indians have such a narrow concept of hard
work.
Just because we sit in an air-conditioned office doesn't mean our brows
don't sweat. You exercise the muscle; we exercise the mind and believe
me that is no less taxing."

He had the man where he wanted him and it was time to drive home the
point.
"Let me give you an example. Take this train. The entire railway
reservation system is computerized. You can book a train ticket between
any two
stations from any of the hundreds of computerized booking centers across
the
country.

Thousands of transactions accessing a single database at a given time;
concurrency, data integrity, locking, data security.
Do you understand the complexity in designing and coding such a system?"

The man was stuck with amazement, like a child at a planetarium. This
Was something big and beyond his imagination. "You design and code such
things."

"I used to," Vivek paused for effect, "But now I am the Project
manager,"
"Oh!" sighed the man, as if the storm had passed over, "so your life is
easy now."
It was like being told the fire was better than the frying pan. The man
had to be given a feel of the heat.

"Oh come on, does life ever get easy as you go up the ladder.
Responsibility only brings more work. Design and coding! That is the
easier part. Now I
don't do it, but I am responsible for it and believe me, that is far
more stressful. My job is to get the work done in time and with the
highest
quality. And to tell you about the pressures! There is the customer at
one end always changing his requirements, the user wanting something else
and your boss always expecting you to have finished it yesterday."

Vivek paused in his diatribe, his belligerence fading With
self-realisation.
What he had said was not merely the outburst of a wronged man, it was
the truth. And one need not get angry while defending the truth.
"My friend," he concluded triumphantly, "you don't know what it is to be
in the line of fire."

The man sat back in his chair, his eyes closed as if in realization. When
He spoke after sometime, it was with a calm certainty that surprised
Vivek.

"I know sir, I know what it is to be in the line of fire," He was
Staring blankly as if no passenger, no train existed, just a vast expanse
of
time.

"There were 30 of us when we were ordered to capture Point 4875 in the
cover of the night. The enemy was firing from the top. There was no
knowing
where the next bullet was going to come from and for whom.
In the morning when we finally hoisted the tricolor at the top only 4 of
us were alive."

"You are a..."
"I am Subedar Sushant from the 13 J&K Rifles on duty at Peak 4875 in
Kargil.
They tell me I have completed my term and can opt for
a land assignment. But tell me sir, can one give up duty just because it
makes life easier. On the dawn of that capture one of my colleagues lay
injured in the snow, open to enemy fire while we were hiding behind a
bunker. It
was my job to go and fetch that soldier to safety. But my captain
refused me permission and went ahead himself. He said that the first
pledge he
had taken as a Gentleman Cadet was to put the safety and welfare of the
nation foremost followed by the safety and welfare of the men he
commanded. His
own personal safety came last, always and every time. He was killed as
he shielded that soldier into the bunker. Every morning now as I stand
guard I can see him taking all those bullets, which were actually meant
for me. I
know sir, I know what it is to be in the line of fire."

Vivek looked at him in disbelief not sure of his reply. Abruptly he
Switched off the laptop. It seemed trivial, even insulting to edit a word
document in the presence of a man for whom valor and duty was a daily part
of life;
a valor and sense of duty which he had so far attributed only to epical
heroes. The train slowed down as it pulled into the station and Subedar
Sushant picked up his bags to alight.

"It was nice meeting you sir."

Vivek fumbled with the handshake. This was the hand that had climbed
mountains, pressed the trigger and hoisted the tricolor. Suddenly as if
by impulse he stood at attention, and his right hand went up in an
impromptu salute. It was the least he felt he could do for the country.

PS: The incident he narrates during the capture of Peak 4875 is a true
life incident during the Kargil war. Major Batra Sacrificed his life while
trying to save one of the men he commanded, as victory was within sight.
For
this and his various other acts of bravery he was awarded the Param Vir
Chakra -the nation's highest military award.

Live humbly, there are great people around us, let us learn!
